I am looking to find pictures of my home town in the 1980's to see what i looked like in certain parts when i was a child. Any idea where one might go about to find pictures like that? Do you think a city has stuff like that in archives? And I am also interested in looking at old newspapers from that era in my town. Do I go to a library to see those?

Yes, a library should have pictures and books about your town. Every town usally has a book with a pictorial history that they did at some point in time.

or, you could also go to your municipal/town office and ask if they have a picture of it... I'm sure, they have a copy of that....

Or possibly old newspapers.
