I've been on here for almost 7 years, but I've finally decided to close my account. This site has become a ghost town since the redesign, and I feel there is no point for me to be on here anymore. Farewell.

I can't say I blame you. I'm very close to doing the same thing. I can handle the new layout, but I can't handle losing simple features like the previous post.

Well, yet if people are resigning because they didn't like the redesign, then it would eventually be a 'domino-effect' and soon they wouldn't come to the site anymore!

well you never know how it is with me... i've still got about four other articles on queue to get submitted, but if they all get spammed with thumbs downs by some random noob then i'm definitely out. it's bad enough that my recent one can't even be recovered now that vertex fixed the thumbs vote bug

I'll leave mine open but there just isn't much happening anymore. I wouldn't mind the layout so much if people actually still came around, but they don't seem to be. I remember I used to have to go back pages to find my recent posts because this place had so many threads. Now you go to page 2 and some of the posts haven't been written on in like 20 days. Do you think it's mostly the layout or do you think people were slowly moving on from the site before that?
The layout, and (more importantly), screwed up functionality. The forum was still quite active right up until the big change. After the change, many people posted complaining about both the appearance & how broken everything was. When people saw so many other people complaining, and the admin neither fixing anything nor even bothering to reply to the complaints, they all left for greener pastures.
Even after all this time, it's still impossible to change your profile, sig, avatar, etc.

I will use my here and there. I love Retrojunk. If it not the some anymore.
I don't blame him. Even when I don't often come here like I usually did then, I'll leave my account open in case I do drop in once in a while.
What are some other good retro websites? This is the only one I've found with such a large community

Since I found this site I have revisited every childhood memory that still resides in my head. I think it's only natural for people to eventually drift away from these kinds of sites. Seriously, how long can you go on reminiscing on the past before the nostalgia starts wearing thin?

I had a crush on the main character of a Pixar movie from 1998 or so (not toy story!), and I was wondering what the hell his name was! (I also forgot the NAME of the movie!) Also, if you tell me what his name was, I was wondering where I could find a plush of him! I LOVE HIM SO MUCH! :P

I have been on here less after the re-design. It's a shame. I found nothing wrong with the old layout.
Look whoever leaves LEAVE, whoever wants to stay STAY. The site isnt going to improve itself even if people are threatening to go. The old site is gone, along with its great nostalgic material and the good people who spent their time here as well. :(

Ha! So true..it will be kind of sad, because even though i've never personally chatted with any of you on a super personal level more than just random chitter chatter over the years, I DO always recognize the usernames and remember the conversations, so it will be sad when it finally dies out, like the deadmalls or whatever.
It's been quite a few years now. I remember names like Nickrules, Misspiggy, Reaper, etc. All names I haven't seen in quite a few years now but remember them.
