Have you ever heard a song on a movie soundtrack that didnt fit the film in question at all. I'd say the fat boys song "are you ready for freddy" from nightmare on elm st. 4 qualifies. A novelty comedy rap song does NOT fit in with a violent (though somewhat mediocre) r-rated slasher film, and freddy's "rapping" near the end of the song was just pitiful.

How about almost all the songs on the 1st TMNT soundtrack?
Aside from the MC hammer song, it was mostly a bunch of no-name emotional crap. I remember loving the first song, but hitting the stop button after it was over.

hmm good call, i wonder how that decision is made, do the writters or whomever decide last minute and sorta half ass it, or mabey some movies have lighter songs to lighten the mood, in the case of that slasher movie nightmere on elm street, otherwise i really dont know.

the song "Dare to be stupid" by Al Yankovich that was included in the original Transformers Movie. Cool song but absolutely out of place in a movie about the Transformers.

Marie Antoinette had THE most bizarre, ill-fitting soundtrack EVER.

Yeah, I agree there. The tried to fashion it like a teen comedy movie! Marie Antoinette should have been treated like it was: a tragedy film.

Not that it doesn't really fit the movie, but Mask (Rocky Dennis, not Jim Carey) has a soundtrack that includes lots of Bob Seger tunes, which kick ass and don't detract from the movie. But when I bought the DVD, I got the director's cut with several deleted scenes inserted into the movie, and the original soundtrack of Bruce Springstein. When you hear what the director wanted for his film, the Springstein soundtrack fits the flow of the movie better.

oh I truely love that movie!! I know this doesnt really fit but the worst song for any movie has to be the title song to "The garbage pail kids" Movie...and I sing it in my head all the time.I hate it and the song is terrible.

Recent reissues of Animal House have dubbed over music that don't fit at all with the original movie.

Of course, rocking out to "You got the luck, you got the powWERRR!!!" while Optimus Prime gets blown away didn't really fit the film either.

My step-dad always thought the soundtrack for LadyHawke seemed really out of place. He made me watch that movie because of it lol =/ I liked the movie, though.

                                  Bullshit. That soundtrack fit perfectly.

As for the movie I'd select? 'The Untouchables'. It worked when it first came out...but I recently bought it on DVD and watch it again...and it just totally screws up the movie. It's a large piece of turd now.

I thought that in A Knight's Tale that all the modern music just didn't go well with the medieval setting of the film. Especially when they all start singing "We Will Rock You."

"Shake, shake, shake senora..." in Beetlejuice didnt fit well, I think.
