ok a lot of young girls are getting pregnant these days and std's are spreading very fast, so do you think condoms should be handed out? well not handed out, but like in vending machines in bathrooms. i personally think they shouldnt because that would promote sexual behavior and plus condoms dont work all the time.

Okay, yes and no. Yes they should be handed out. But only at the end of a sexual studies lecture. They shouldn't be readily available in a vending machine.

no, i think it is promoting sex, 13, 14 and 15 16 and 17 years old shouldn't be having sex, it's all just hormones, it's not meaningful, loving relationshiops and they ushually fuck up anyways up by getting pregnant/stds or whatever else, not mature enough i dont care who you are if you under the legal age of 18 no matter how much knowlege you have i dont think you should., i like the idea of promoting safe sex for when there of age though.

I would agree with DebrisStorm. Condoms should be handed out, but only in a sexual studies class of sorts. That way, students will hopefully be aware of the consques of sex and its understanding. Then again it wouldn't make a flip over rather or not it would be in vending machines; I read that on average, 2/3 of a graduating senior class have already had sexual intercourse. I only guess if they had safe sex or not though.

High schoolers shouldn't be having sex period since they aren't responsible enough to make the right decisions when an unplanned parenthood thing happens. College students shouldn't need their college to remind them safe sex practices since college students should be responsible enough to make right decisions, although most aren't.

No, I don't think they should not be handed out. It's like handing the keys to your car to an 8 year old. It's sending the message that it's ok for kids to be having sex. In this day and age they pretty much do what they want anyway, but it's the principle of the thing.

Responsible or not, they're gonna do it. Its just how things are. Might as well throw them a clue.

I say no because I have a strong belief in no sex until marriage.

I can see the pros and cons to this. The good thing, is that they're saying, hey, if you are going to have sex, make sure you use protection. The bad thing to me, is similar to what others are saying. It seems that it would encourage younger people to go out and have sex when, imo, teenagers really shouldn't be due to their not learning responsibility yet at that time, and shouldn't be boggled down in case of an unplanned pregnancy.

I know I didn't really answer the question, since it seems I'm for and against it, but regardless, if someone wants to have sex, he or she more than likely will, either way.

Absolutely, to prevent more unwanted pregnancies and the spread of disease, and (most importantly) in addition to proper sex education. Making condoms available to teens does not "promote" teen sex, as sex pretty much promotes itself. It does, however, promote responsiblity. There will never be a 0% teen pregnancy rate, but the least we can do is encourage young people to do the responsible thing rather than bury our heads in the sand and make like teen sex doesn't happen.

                            I say do it.

But why ask if you'd want condom dispensers in college bathrooms? I mean, come on, almost every college student out there is over 18, and responsible enough to make their own decisions.

What a stupid question. Girls should just (phrase edited due to offensive wording) wait until they are 18 to have sex. Nothing annoys me more than people under 18 who have sex, there's just something so "arrogant" about it, it bugs the hell out of me. I really hate teenagers today.

If you're under 18 and you have sex and get pregnant or get some STD or whatever, it's your own damn fault.

You do know how condescending that statement is, right, not to mention prejudiced? You're putting it solely on the girls, when guys should be following the same advice and logic. A girl doesn't have to be a "whore" to get pregnant, just like a guy doesn't have to be a "man-whore" to get someone pregnant. One time is enough, and even if one does use precautions, something can still happen.

Yes because the majority are just going to use them like balloons and fill them with liquid soap to make squishy toys

if they had done it in my school back then, a great deal of the student body wouldn't be fouling up their lives.

its a good idea. because they should be safe. if the school did not think that the kids would not do it, they would not hand out condoms.
