Western Conference Semis:
1. Red Wings vs. 5. Sharks.
I give the Sharks the upper hand. The Red Wings (from what I've seen) have had trouble playing against physical teams this year. Which, is why they went out and got that hack, Bertuzzi (no offense to anybody that likes him, I just hate that guy). The Sharks are a big, physical, fast team.
And personally, I think Dominik Hasek is washed up. The only reason he had such a good season is because of Detroit's stingy defense. Had he been in Ottawa again this year, he would have had another disappointing season.
2. Ducks vs. 3. Canucks.
I'm biased, due to the fact that I am a huge Teemu Selanne fan, but I would not want to play the Ducks right now. Vancouver had trouble against Dallas, and the Ducks beat both San Jose and Dallas out for the Pacific Division. They're fast, physical, and have a great defensive corps.
As far as I'm concerned, the only real weapons the Canucks have are the Sedin twins, and Trevor Linden from time to time. And sure, the Canucks have Roberto Luongo, but good goaltending won't win you the series.
Eastern Conference Semis:
1. Sabres vs. 6. Rangers.
I don't care if the Rangers did sweep the Thrashers, I don't think they stand a chance against Buffalo. Even if Sean Avery gets under everybody's skin, and Henrik Lundqvist is playing well, I'd be scared to death of playing the Sabres. They've got depth, great goaltending, an amazing transition game, and Chris Drury.
2. Devils vs. 5. Senators.
Two words. Martin Brodeur.
He's the best goaltender in the league right now for sure, and I don't think the Senators have both the defense to stop the Devils' offense and the offense to break Brodeur.
