Like when David Bowman's space capsule, after what seems like a long time, finally lands inside of what appears to be a fancy hotel? The poor guy is sooo scared he's shaking uncontrollably and his face looks creepy as hell!
In the book, Bowman stays inside the capsule for awhile, then as he calms down realizes that whoever or whatever "made" that hotel is obviously watching him. He steps out into the hotel room so as not to appear to his hosts as "completely stupid", lol.

It's like he was literally reborn. He was the Benjamin Button of that time.

Oh yeah, and the close up of his baby face with those huge eyes.
Kinda freaked me out at the time.
Even though there are a ton of haters, the Blair Witch Project is still as scary as ever.
The Exorcist. And Silence of the Lambs. Nothing scarier than serial killers.
That clown from the movie It, too creepy.
As far as movies being truly scary, maybe The Shining and The Exorcist.
