Elvis Presley. The Greatest Entertainer Whoever Lived!?

Even though I was born in 1981, it seems that I have always been a huge Elvis fan. I remember my parents playing his music and watching his movies.

Elvis died in 1977. This August 17 will mark the 30th Anniversary of his death. He has been gone for a long time, but still seems he has a grip on our generation and the one before...

What are your thoughts on Elvis Presley?

You want to hear something amusing? Look for an artist named The King. He's an Irishman who impersonates Elvis. But he only covers songs of dead singers. Like Sweet Home Alabama, Come As You Are, Whole Lotta Rosie and so forth. The guy is damn good too. Its eerie. He said in an interview, that Elvis came to him in a dream. And that if he didn't do this, Elvis would come back and kick his ass. From what I've heard, his live shows are great.

I love Elvis, but I will pass on watching him sing with the French-Candadian.

I have a Celine Dion joke:

Celine Dion walks into a bar and the bartender goes: "Why the long face?"

This reminds me a little of Kenny G overdubbing himself on Louis Armstrong's "What A Wonderful World." Doesn't seem half as blasphemous, though. Not sure why.

Elvis made some great music and was a bit of a fox in his early days. A shame how everything ended.
