not sure... it seems like the only good ones that have come out recently are for adults... as far as kid shows, it doesn't look good:(

I really hope so, but I'll be 20 at the time:( Plus I doubt it. But I really hope you're right.
Hey, I'll be 20 also, but lots of Retrojunkers in their 20's today still watch cartoons. It takes about a decade for cartoons to get better and the declline was around 2001.
i like to think they'll be better if only for the fact i cant see them geting worse. however i still think were runing out of idea's. im not sure there will be tvs after the next decade

I dunno. This decade hasn't given us many memorable cartoons. Maybe it'll get better next decade, maybe not. Only time will tell.

I want cartoons like animaniacs, the tick, rocko's mdern life, and freakazoid...things that really did me no good mentally....what's wrong with pure entertainment for our children?

I don't really mind educational kids shows. As long as they...oh, i dunno....TEACH SOMETHING!

key word is "entertainment" there....it's either educational or midless dribble that is crap/ You think with all the technical advances we've made since 1997 that we could have some pretty awesome cartoons but instead ppl decided that cartoons also had to get all politically correct, punchin cheap jokes, and they all prcatically have the same story line. I thing the main area that has caused cartoons to go down hill is the scripts. There's no good writing in cartoons anymore. They've dumbed all the "entertainment shows" down and educationalized all the early childhood shows up

There lies the problem. Cartoon Makers just put in all the technical advances they can to distract kids from noticing the lack of entertainment. They just put in a bunch of CGI and have a whole lotta crap go on and call it a show (i.e. every Jetix show)
And the politcal correctness has skyrocketed and isn't going away anytime soon.
So to now answer my own question before...I do NOT think cartoons will get any better anytime soon. We'll just have to avoid TV and refuge here.

I think there will always be a few really good cartoons. I don't know if there will be another animation explosion like the 80's and 90's. I wish scripts for cartoons were better. I miss the writing in Gargoyles. Each episode could stand alone or was somehow linked to a bigger story.

I personally stopped checking for new cartoons when I turned 13 or 14. So I really don't know since I haven't checked for a new cartoon in a good while. I just stick to the older ones (the 80s and before)
