For a little more than a year now, I have noticed an interesting trend of vintage commercials, TV show intros, and bumpers with the retrojunk logo on it appearing on video sharing websites such as youtube and ifilm.

My question is: "Do you feel that this helps or hurts retrojunk?"

My answer is: Although I used to be against the whole idea of copyright infringement, I think that finding a commercial with the retrojunk logo somewhere on the Internet helps promote retrojunk.com. I discovered this website one day after I found a vintage commercial for Dream Phone on ifilm. The logo made me curious to check this site out, and soon I became a member. That is my story and I am sticking to it.

Nah... Whenever I see one of those logos on a video, I totally disregard it. I mean, think about it, how many logos does one see in a single day? Probably in the hundreds. It's all just noise. What this site needs is a really bitchin' giveaway or sweepstakes. Something that will seem like a big event. But that's just my opinion...

I used to show Nicktoon episodes of Spongebob, ZIM and Ren & Stimpy somewhere and I actually added Inside Out Boy and the old Nickelodeon indents from here as something retro. :) I don't do that anymore for copyright reasons, and because YouTube doesn't want anything from Viacom showing there.

Anyway I think the RetroJunk logo really helps, cause anyone who watches those videos and sees the logo will want to come here and see more. :D Whoever's in charge of putting that logo on really came up with a good idea!

I've noticed some of the youtube users are trying to crop out the website watermarks.

I am ok with it as long as it doesn't get the companies attention & we have to take off the commercials.

If we could keep the videos only on retrojunk without them showing up on other sites then we would not add the watermark to it but when they are all over the place we want to keep the credit for them and have people visit our site.
The more traffic we get to the site the better it is.
And now for something completely different................

The thing about commercials and trailers is that the people that create them actually pay TV networks to show them so what we are doing is giving them free ad space so they should be paying us.
The intros to TV shows promote the sales of there DVDs and don't degrade the value of there products. If we showed the full episodes then it would remove the sales value of there production.
That is how we don't get in trouble for what we do.

What about the intros? How can we put those up legally?
