I've been driving for 6 years and I have only gotten 2 tickets. Last one I got was in '04. So it's been like 3 years since the last one. I thought I would share my 2 experiences.

1) My first ticket. I was driving down the road going the normal speed , but what I hadn't realized was that I was in a School Zone and during it's effective time.

2) I was driving downtown and I got lost. I drove into a closed street. A cop stopped me and my insurance had expired by like only a day. I'm sure I would have gotten away if my insurance hadn't been expired.

How many tickets have you gotten? Any experiences you want to share?

I've been driving for four years, and I've received one. I have two sisters and they both got their first speeding tickets in two consecutive days, respectively. Luckily I didn't get one on the third day.

I'm very lucky, I've gotten NO tickets. I've been pulled over once for speeding, but only got a verbal warning.

I don't drive, but my mom who is 48 has never gotten one and has never been in an accident.

I've had mine for 3 years and I've never gotten one. Rear-ended someone who stopped on an on-ramp and my car got beat up by one of those stupid electrical boxes in a parking garage, but no other incidents so far.

One actual ticket and one parking ticket in .... 5 years.

I was speeding really bad at the time... like 85 in a 55. I tried to explain that I had to get to a resturaunt in downtown Dover Deleware to drop off fresh rabbit, but the cop, for some reason, thought that was not a good enough excuse.

I had only one ticket in my 14 years of driving, that was for speeding.

I did get pulled over early this year because a cop thought that my registration tag was expired. It really wasn't because the silly cop just misread it.

Never gotten a real ticket, but I've had two warnings, one for not having my headlamps on at night (the street lights were so bright it fooled me).

The second was a student officer with what I guess was a member of the good ole' boys club teaching her. It was 2 a.m., I was leaving Wal-Mart with some computer parts I needed to fix the home LAN, and I got through an intersection just as the light was turning red, I DID make it, however....

The police pulled me over. My only understanding is this, being a long haired man in the deep south driving an older vehicle with Black Sabbath on the stereo with all the windows upen at 2 a.m. is just asking for being pulled over. Yeah, those damn longhaired hippies.....just what do they think they are doing buying a 4 port hub at 2 a.m.? Thankfully it was only a warning. Profiling (sigh).

I'm happy to say I've never been stopped for a ticket. I did have a weird instance of having a police vehicle behind me with his lights on and I had to pull over to let him go. The embarrassing thing is that it must have been a few seconds before I noticed he was in the mirror. He had no siren on!

I've been driving for four years. I got pulled over for "speeding". I explained to the cop there was no sign that said I had to slow down... and then the cop explained to me that slowing down on that particular bridge was "common knowledge" in the city I was passing through... I hate Southern cops, they think they can make up rules and be justified everytime. I was going 50mph on a 45mph road... but the cop says that on the bridge the speed limit is 35mph("common knowledge, no sign needed"). So I was written up for going 15 over the speed limit, and had to go to court and pay $210!
Just last week, I borrowed my brother's car and got pulled over because his brake light was out on the right side. I was also late to my interview that day, and didn't get the job. Luckily the cop only wrote up a warning.
Cops are fine when they are stopping a criminal, but I do not appreciate them writing me up for bogus road rules.

... That's one bleak future you come from.

Four tickets in 11 years of driving. Three of them were this year, one of was so absolutely ridiculous that I should have contested it (I ran through an almost impossible to see stop sign on a local road; when the officer was writing my ticket, he pulled over two other guys who did exactly the same thing.)

                                  Still have my license, though.

2 speeding tickets and one ticket for driving with one headlight out. No accidents and I have been driving for nearly 18 years.
