Hi,
Who thinks that The Wacky World of Tex Avery should've come out in 1975 instead of 1997?
I do. And if it ever had happened in '75, the series would be produced by Hanna-Barbera (where Tex Avery would be using the last of his formative time, of course) and would air Saturday mornings on ABC (from September 6, 1975 to September 4, 1976) and NBC (from September 11, 1976 to September 1, 1979).
The reason why Tex Avery's '70s shorts should've aired on ABC is because of The Tom & Jerry / Grape Ape Show and then on NBC is because of The Pink Panther Show.
The characters within the show would be:
Evelyn the Elephant
Cathleen the Cat and Molly the Mouse
Boris the Bird
Florian the Frog
Billy the Bear
Joe Jumbo
Tex Avery (himself!)
Some of the cartoons that would be featured are remakes of Tex Avery's short subjects he contributed to Warner Bros. (under Leon Schlesinger, from 1935-1941) and MGM (from 1942-1954).
The closing theme for the 30-minute syndicated version (even the 1975 ABC episodes) would be the original closing theme for The Scooby-Doo / Dynomutt Hour.
What do you think of all this?
