Surely I'm not the only person who has had to deal with dullards on E-Bay?

I sold a record, a seven inch single, to a guy who likes the Pogues.

Fair enough.

He then leaves me a neutral feedback because HE THOUGHT IT WAS AN ALBUM. Despite the fact that it was listed under the "single 7'" category and it saying so in clear, readable letters.

I then contact him and say it was listed and it is down to him to read the auction.

He then sends me two separate e-mails about how he insists that he will "not be threatened" (WTF? :? ) and how I am an upper-class snob who is infertile and cannot maintain an erection.

What?

Are these people for real?

What are your E-Bay stories..............?

I simply responded by wishing him a pleasant 2008, then promptly blocked and reported him.

I've ebayed for over 3 years without any fuss. In fact, my record is excellent.

I'm not going to be put off by some prick with an attitude.

The thing is, if I'd have been a new-to-ebay seller, I'd have been shocked and scared off the site. Know what I mean?

You handled him with class. I suppose for people that carry on like that, life is punishment enough.

I've been fairly lucky. Every now and then, I'll have a buyer try and scam me and say he never received the package, even though I have a delivery confirmation number that says otherwise. I'll send the number and I never hear from them again. You be surprised just how often that shit happens.

buying game carts from ebay is not to be taken lightly. i looked closely at the box art that was posted for pokemon fire red. it was fine to me, so my mom ordered it. the next couple of weeks i get it in, i play it, notice the cartridge is black instead of that weird red color style, i noticed from the player's guide that the pokemon were in the wrong places when i found them in the grass, and the graphics were super glitchy from time to time. i know for a fact it was a beta

not a beta... it's a hack fake version it's just a hack of the orignal games.. or maybe a crappy translation of a japanese green version or something.

I once received a negative feedback from a girl whose printer failed to print out HER invoice properly.

And, as such, she couldn't read my address.

She gave me a negative for this.

Do you leave feedback before or after you receive feedback?

Some people get very angry if you ask them to leave the appropriate feedback and in turn you will do the same. They take it so personally at times.

I only leave feedback if they leave mine.

If they are total dicks, I leave a bad one.

I always wait until the buyer leaves feedback.

As a buyer, I leave feedback when the item I order gets to my door and I can inspect it.

As a seller, I leave feedback when the buyer leaves feedback.

I've had a few bad experiences bidding on old VHS copies. They always list it as the wrong movie. A lot of times it's a rental copy being sold off and it has the wrong case cover, so no one knows the difference unless they screen it. A video store owner who sold it to me refunded my money without asking for the copy back because they were getting rid of inventory. The second time, it was a copy from my local library (I bought it from someone across the country), so I kept it despite that it wasn't what I wanted.

The funniest ebay story I've heard so far is when my Mom and her sister were bidding against each other without knowing it. She was going to buy the item for my Mom's birthday and she ended up raising the price.

Sorta off topic...you know those "What we found on ebay" segments on Leno? How come I can never find any of this stuff? I type in some stupid word that might bring up those items, but I usally don't get these odd items. Do you think Leno makes this stuff up?

I think it depends on what you look for. Sometimes I'm looking for things like fashion dolls and I get a few strange listings along with it. It also depends on the wording of your search.

I bought some vintage jewelry, some stones were missing but I really liked it so I replaced the stones, left the seller POSITIVE feedback but mentioned the missing stones, she messaged me asking why I didn't ask for a refund and I told her I already invested money to fix it, so she leaves me NEUTRAL feedback for REFUSING a refund! HUH?!

I sold an SNES game once and got negative feedback from an ass who said I should have disclosed to him that it was a "rental copy".

I kindly informed him that while I play video games, I know nothing of their value as pertains to rental copy vs non-rental copy. I further pointed out that pics of both the box and the cartridge clearly showed a rental sticker, and also pointed out that if it meant that much to him, he should have emailed me and asked before he bid. I put a used game up for sale that was in perfect condition and played without a problem, and I delivered what was promised.

                                        I hate people.
