            Here's a list I can come up of my own of recent events that have changed the world:

            -Loma Prieta Earthquake

            -9/11

            -Columbine High School Shooting

            -Iraq War

            -Hurricane Katrina

            -Tsunami in Southeast Asia

              I don't know if it ranks up there but to me, the Virginia Tech. massacre should at least be considered b/c it, without a doubt, is the #1 tragedy of 2007.

                                        I'm pretty sure these events had some impact on the world. :)

                                        I'm fairly certain the Titanic had nothing to do with 90% of the world, and the deaths of American presidents make the headlines perhaps, but don't 'impact' the world, per se. The only one that really impacted the world is the creation of the US, as we're imposing ourselves on the rest of the world.
