Does anyone know the font used in this MTV promo when the music stars' names are at the bottom of the screen? http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=983837243385647147

The exact same font is used here at 00:31: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHIhzG66ONU

This font was always used on MTV in promos, commercials and music videos in the '80s, and I'd like to know the name of this font.

Any help would be appreciated.

I dunno about all that, but I like the whole Back To The Future theme you got going there. Where's the Flux Capacitor?

The font is used in basically every MTV music video when they list the artist's name, song name, etc at the bottom of the screen. No, it's not something really common like Arial Black because the lowercase e's in the font I'm looking for have a slanted bar in the middle, as seen in this MTV promo (look at the "e" in in the words "Guest VJ" at 00:25): http://www.retrojunk.com/details_commercial/6639/ Any help?

Additionally, the historic Kabel typeface, which MTV displayed at the beginning and end of all music videos since 1981, was phased out in favor of larger text and less information about the video's record label and director. The classic font can still be seen on videos airing on MTV Jams, and in "prechyroned" versions of old videos on sister network VH1 Classic, which had their title information recorded onto the same tape as the video itself.
