I heard there was major controversy in England about some 3 year old boy brutally murdered by two ten year boys and the press blamed it on "Child's Play 3", could anyone care to explain to me the details on this ordeal?

It was said that it inspired the murder, but according to the Childs Play 3 entry on Wikipedia police rejected that idea. Here is a link to the Wikipedia page on the murder that the controversy was about.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_James_Bulger

It was said that the boys death was similar to that of one seen in the film, and one of the murderers fathers had rented the movie the week of the murder.

It seems violence is always blamed on either movies or video games in the end.

All that movie made me do was watch out for scary looking dolls that talk and turn alive at night.

All it made me do was look for another movie. The first one was OK, and the second wasn't awful, but after that they really started to suck.

I Dunno, there's plenty of other evil doll movies that are better then CP such as "Dolls" (1987), "Puppet Master", "Trilogy of Terror", "Magic" with Anthony Hopkins, "Making Contact (a.k.a. joey)", and "Devil Doll (1964)".

Do any of those movies make 10 year olds want to commit murders though? I'm a bit worried now :P

LOL, parents never want to take responsibility for their children.

Sad but also way too true in this world of ours.
Who knows what is really real? That is the true question isn't it?

These movies are rated "R" for a reason, people.

                        Here's the story

"Child's Play — Four people in England claimed this as an influence in the murder of Suzanne Capper, 16, in 1992. They had injected her with drugs, tortured her with pliers and set fire to her house. All the while, they spouted lines from the movie."

there is a site about movies that apparently caused murder

The British media are full of crap, blaming movies on such horrific events.

I'm a UK resident and back when Child's Play 3 was released a toddler named Jamie Bulger was killed by two kids (who were around 10 I think). They just took him away and killed him. They blamed this film for why they killed him. I don't know why though. those two kids who murdered him got sent to a youth detention centre but they are now free with different identitys.

                                  Question checklist:

Where did they get the drugs they injected her with? Nope. Didn't ask that one.

Where did they get the stuff they tortured her with? Nope. Didn't ask that either.

Where did they get incendiary devices to burn her house with? Nope. Didn't see that on the list.

How come their parents didn't seem to miss them the whole entire time they were gone murdering the girl? Nope. Not one of the questions.

What movie made them do it? DING DING DING WE HAVE A WINNER!

                                  Sigh...

The british media should blame the parents not the movie.

the movie just happened to come out at the time so they had to pick on it for a murder.. the murder still would have happened if the film didnt come out then i think
