Does anyone feel the same way I feel about how they are remaking all of these cartoons? Like TMNT, The chipmunks, Garfield, and even Pooh? I don't like how they are turning everything into CGI!!! At least have them look like they used to. What do you guys think?

They are trying to bring old cartoons back it is a profit thing if they update the characters look they will make more profit. I kinda agree because alot of old cartoons were great the way they look but the remaking kinda takes away it is look.

It's called bringing in a new audience and generation.
Alvin and the Chipmunks is from the 1960s. The kids of then watched it. They brought the series back in the 1980s. People my age and such watched it. Now, they did the movie recently to bring in the kids of today.
I honestly don't have a problem with the remakes. The generation is different, what appeals to that generation isn't the same thing that appealed to mine, and it'd be selfish and delusional of me to even expect that.

Yea, I notice everything is entirely CGI now. What's wrong with the good ol' fashion 2D cartoon way? Ah well... I guess CGI's faster and cheaper or something.

Meh, I don't really care about cartoon remakes anymore. One of the only ones I still like that I thought was actually good was Casper in 1995. Most of the ones since 2000 were disappointing and looked like absolute junk (especially Scooby-Doo, Garfield, Underdog, and Alvin and the Chipmunks).

Usually, I would agree, however, some of the remakes are quite clever. I thought that TMNT was actually pretty cool (although I did miss Shredder) and the Raph and Leo fight was rockin'. The He-Man series from 2005 was sweet too.
New stuff is lame. Old stuff is AEWSOME.

i dont mind, and TMNT wasawsome, it was a good ide to use CGI for that one, that way it didnt look all cartoony but was cheeper thenlive action. BUT, i don't think every single one should be done with CG. 2D is way more colorful adn more appealing.

I still need to see TMNT myself before I can really say anything about it. From what you're saying it sounds like it's okay, but I guess the only thing I questioned when it came out was that it was all CGI when I thought it would be live action with CGI turtles.

So many of our generation producers are long gone, retired. The company names remain, but their sons and daugters are now running the show. Im not down wit it.

Yeah, I haven't seen a new cartoon movie yet that isn't CGI. I'm hoping that my children aren't gonna grow up with new movies being CGI. I'll bust out all of the old movies before they see the new ones (=

Well I thought The Simpsons Movie was a bit refreshing. It wasn't perfect but I still loved it and I think that and Enchanted have kind of been giving us a taste of 2D in theaters again until Disney's Frog Princess comes out. :)
