Man what the hell dude how do you keep a 13 yr old under control when everything has been tried and failed already.

The kid is on his way to jail (which we have to go to court for in two weeks) for drinking under age. He got drunk with his friends one day and got brought home in the back of a blue light special.

I have even tried bribing the fucking kid to be good. I told him all he got to do is go to school in the morning and don't give me or his mom any trouble for the next two weeks (yeah, TWO FUCKING WEEKS, WHAT IS THAT RIGHT? Like its so fucking hard to do!???) and he'd be coming with us to the beach Friday, almost two weeks away. On top of that, we got a convertable for the weekend and one of our friends that's staying at the condo with us is bringing a Hummer H2. Everything is booked and set-up for a freakin great time. He couldn't go one day without arguing and trying to fight everyone in the house-hold and losing his privelidges, as well as his chance to go to Florida which was his second chance btw. We're going, leaving his ass at home, and two days after we get back he goes to jail for a year or more.

It was his last chance to have some fun before he leaves. I'm at my wits' end, I have no fucking clue how to get this kid under control. Advice anyone?

Please, those with no experience in the matter and/or no parenting experience, please do not respond to this post.

This is why I wish we had corporal punishment in the school systems still.

sad to say but right now about all thats left is to hope that his time in jail straightens him out. Though it didnt work on my cousin who was in a simular situation, I think she got worse later on....no idea, dont talk to her anymore.

Corporal punishment? Hell, whatever happened to stoning your kids for being disrespectful? It's in the bible, man!

He's either rebelling or just experimenting with booze. You have to remember, any kid can get busted for stuff like that. You have to teach them about choices and consequences. On the plus side, you didn't catch him with a syringe or pictures of dead pets, so I think you're good for now.

Judging by your post, I'd say you were more interested in the trip to Florida than finding out what's eating your son. You were all set to have a fun in the sun. You feel you deserve it and you probably do, but your son needs some attention right now. There are times when you have to put it all on hold and focus on your kids. I'm not saying to pamper and spoil him and let yourself rot away, but just talk to him and try and find out what's in his head.

This has to be the most rational advice I've ever seen posted on this site. You're a smart parent, kayvee.

Thats really good advice. I would have said the same thing, and im not even a parent. I think that you should really spend some time with him, it looks like he is starved for attention.

I agree completely. Take kayvee's very wise advice.

You don't have to have children to understand the problems of raising children. Why? Because we've all BEEN children and I'm sure anyone can look back and easily cite a myriad of mistakes our parents made. Discipline is important but so is talking to your kids and getting to know them. Something I wish my parents had have done more.

Isn't there a such thing as a liquor cabinet so you can hide/lock the alcohol from minors?

No, I mean a little metallic cage in their home. A cage so small he couldn't escape, but large enough he could breathe. Give him feeding hours, etc.

I'd love to say I'm kidding, but if a kid is really this out of control and not learning anything, then perhaps it's best for him, at the very least for an hour.

And no, don't make jokes like JUST CUZ UR PARENTS DID THAT 2 U DONT MEAN EVERYBODY GOTTA, I'll have you know I was never this bad, and I think these kids should be disciplined in pretty terrible ways if they're not even gonna attempt to improve themselves.
