Actually Target is more expensive than Wal-Mart. Fifty cents here and there can really add up. If we did our bi-weekly grocery shopping at Target, we'd have to up our budget from 150 to 170 or more to be able to get the same amount of food.
Wal-Mart's prices have gone up because they have no choice. The economy is in the shitter right now. The price of everything is going up (well, except the prices of homes).
Anyway, I'm so fucking sick and tired of hearing people trash Wal-Mart. If it wasn't for Wal-Mart, my fiance and I would not be able to eat as well as we do, nor have the same quality of life. The same goes for many other families out there. Their slogan is "Save Money, Live Better" for a very good reason.
Wal-Mart provides jobs as well. Millions of people work at Wal-Mart. Now, they don't pay a lot of money, but what fucking retail job does? You can't single Wal-Mart out because they're big. If Wal-Mart started paying its employees 11 dollars an hour, they would go under! Millions of people would be without jobs. I'm sure THAT would be good for the country.
Retail jobs are shit and will always be shit whether you work for Wal-Mart or JCPenney or 7-11. They're not supposed to pay well because they're unskilled jobs.
I agree. Actually, I know some people who find it hard to get jobs because of their minors intellectual deficiencies and it's nice to see that Wal-Mart employ those people. One of my friends worked at Wal-Mart for years. It may not be a dream job but, at least he can live properly.
By the way, I like going at Wal-Mart, I always find what I'm looking for and more. This is where I bought my PS2 slim. Also, here is Canada, Wal-Mart recently took the initiative to buy most of their product from local retailers which is good for the economy.
