Hey all.
New here, was scouring the web for the title of this movie and came across a forum recommending me to look here.
The movie is from the 80's maybe mid i was fairly young at the time. In fact there might of been a couple of movies, i am fairly sure it was not a tv series though. i rented it from the video store a couple of times.
It is japanimation and about 3 human cyborgs.
The main charachter is a late teen to early 20's charachter thin black hair, looks like Pegasus Seiya from saint seyia. I can't remember the exact start of the film but something happenes to the kid and makes him decide he wants to become part cyborg. He then goes to some people who perform physical and mental tests to see if he has what it takes for the project.
After becoming a cyborg he wears a red and white suit and fights with a polearm, on either end of the polearm are lasers and the polearm splits in 2 when he is nto using it and he places either side in sheaths on his legs.
There are 2 other cyborgs as well. One is a short stocky fat guy dressed in orange and uses a morning star and the other is a tall skinny guy and i can't remember his weapon, maybe a bow.
They each have a ship and the ships can combine in different formations to form various ships or robots.
It's been driving me nuts for days and i cannot find it anywhere on the internet.

nah it's not that. The animation was more mature. The suit he wore was kinda like armour.
That sounds like 20 japan cartoons I've seen. Try going to the Anime News Network forums and ask them, they'll know.

Oh COME ON!... a CYBORG... white SUIT... fights with polearms... LASERS!... fat guy in ORANGE... huge robot made of 3 other smaller ones... you really don't know this movie!?, DUH!; it's pretty obvious we're talking about Candy Candy... duh...
