okay guy's, I think that it is time that we had a PC Vs. the Mac Forum.
I am sure that we all can agree that Macs and PCs both have their Pros and cons and I will start off by listing some of the things that I like and don't like about PCs and Macs.
For the PC:
Pros:
I like the sound, look and feeling that I get when I boot into Windows XP Professional in the morning, I like it's nice Interface, I like it's easy accessibility of utilities, control panels and such. I like using Windows Media Player 11 to play various Media Files because the Playback Quality is very good. I like to use Windows Movie Maker Version 2.0 with the old Windows Media 8 Video Codecs because when you compress from DV AVI Video it gives you very good compression and I like it better than the later version windows media Codecs because the later versions seem to compress video so tightly together that the playback seems kinda jerky at times with dropped frames. I like to use QuickTime Pro for the PC to edit and Create MPEG4, AVI, H264 and other files. I like to use Internet Explorer 6 to browse websites that I know that I can trust.
Cons:
I absolutely hate just about everything about Windows Vista, I hate it's stupid looking interface, I hate it's lack of compatibility for several things, I hate the Internet Explorer Version 7 that comes with it because it is a major resource hog and it is all around slower than Internet Explorer 6 ever was. I am dissappointed that the Window's Edition of QuickTime offers no Support for Divx or XVID AVI Files. I hate the fact that windows by default is automatically set to constantly search for and download updates from Microsoft this is especially annoying for Dial Up users that have little to no advanced computer knowledge.
For the Mac:
Pros:
I like the Macs Safari Browser that comes as the Standard Browser for all new Macs that are purchased, it's a good solid browser that makes web browsing fun and enjoyable. I like some of the old school mac games that were present on Macs that they had at my school back in 1994 and I especially liked the Kid Pix Art Program that was one of the Bombest Art Programs Ever! I like the fact that there are plugins for the Mac Edition of QuickTime that can enable it to play and edit WMV and FLV Files! I like to use the Mac Edition of Mozilla FireFox because it runs smooth and solid on the Mac.
Cons:
I hate the fact that when you try to scroll through video files with QuickTime on the Mac it can cause it to freeze and you sometimes need to restart. I hate the fact that there is no longer a Valid Version of Internet Explorer for the Mac because some websites require Internet Explorer to access certain features on their site and that is a bummer for people that have to access these kinds of sites for school and they just dumped their PC for a Mac and then found out that their schools website needs Internet Explorer to run certain things that are present on the site. I often wonder why they stopped making Internet Explorer for the Mac because back in 1998 and in the early 2000's they had Internet Explorer for the Mac but at some point they stopped making it. Microsoft Word for the Mac seems to suffer from being terribly bloated and the install process seems a bit hectic.
Well thats a small sampling of my experience with PCs and the Mac.
Now what do you guys think?
