Nickelodeon Brings Some of Its Most Popular Series to DVD for First Time, Exclusively on Amazon.com

Selection of Popular Animated and Live-Action Series Available on DVD Include Drake & Josh, Danny Phantom, Hey Arnold! and More

NEW YORK, Aug. 25 -- Nickelodeon is collaborating with CreateSpace, part of the Amazon.com, Inc. group of companies, to make a premier selection of Nickelodeon's most beloved and sought-after hits available on DVD -- some shows for the first time ever. Starting today, fan-favorite shows like Drake & Josh, Hey, Arnold! and Danny Phantom -- among many others -- can now be purchased on DVD via CreateSpace DVD on Demand, where discs are manufactured as soon as customers order them on Amazon.com. The initiative will give Amazon.com the largest selection of Nickelodeon DVD titles available on the Web.

"This agreement makes Amazon.com home to the largest selection of Nickelodeon DVDs anywhere, including some of our classic titles like Hey, Arnold! to recent hits such as Drake & Josh," said Nancy Rachman, Vice President, Nickelodeon Home Entertainment. "These are some of the most-requested shows from both current and long-time Nick fans, and we're very excited about making these titles available on Amazon.com."

The Nickelodeon titles now available through CreateSpace DVD On Demand include selected seasons of Drake & Josh (Best of Seasons One through Four), Unfabulous (Seasons One and Two), Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide (Seasons One and Two), Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius (Best of Seasons One through Four), Danny Phantom (Seasons One and Two) and Zoey 101 (Season Two). Hit shows from the Nick Rewind collection also will be available, including classic favorites like Hey, Arnold! (Seasons One and Two), Doug (Seasons One and Two) and Rocko's Modern Life (Best of Volumes One and Two). Also available for the first time on DVD will be the hit show South of Nowhere (Seasons One and Two) from The N. All of these titles are multi-disc sets.

The collaboration provides Nickelodeon with the opportunity to offer fans a broader selection of shows on DVD than ever before. All Nickelodeon titles manufactured on demand by CreateSpace include industry-standard Content Scramble System (CSS) copy protection.

Titles available immediately on Amazon.com for purchase and expedited shipping are Drake & Josh - Best of Seasons 1-2 and Hey, Arnold! - Season 1. Additional titles being produced on-demand with CreateSpace are now available for pre-order on www.amazon.com/nickelodeon.

Did anybody notice that the Rocko DVDs are just "best of" collections? What the hell is up with that? Why can't we have full seasons of it?

In any case, I won't be buying these because I've pledged to never give Viacom another dime. They can suck it.

They've already released "Ren & Stimpy" out on DVD a while ago, but it's recommended for 'mature viewers'. BTW, what's so different about the UNCUT version of the R&S episodes, anyway? :?

Some of the episodes had scenes that Nickelodeon edited out. One example is in Rubber Nipple Salesmen where one of the houses that Ren and Stimpy went in was George Liquor's house (character from "Man's Best Friend" an unaired episode included on the DVD). He took the guts and scales off Ren and Stimpy like fish which was edited out during it's airings on Nickelodeon. I believe that scene was included on the DVD.

Salute Your Shorts was great. So was Wild and Crazy Kids , Double Dare not Double Dare 2000 which wasn't too bad and Guts but the new version of Guts might suck. But nothing will ever top YCDTOTV. But Nickelodeon doesn't have the rights to it.

It's probably not as bad as the "Adult Party Cartoon" version of R&S, because that was too much for me. :P
