Anyone one here had to deal with having step parents? I'm grateful I never had to go through divorce. However I knew several kids that did and most hated their step mom/dad. My brother (half brother) is my dads step son however he did adopt him. Now that i'm older I realize I was treated better by my dad.

I don't have a step anything.....actually, I have a step grandpa but ive never called him that or anything, because I never new my real grandpa.

My dad's parents were divorced, but I've always loved both sets of his parents, and my parents have never been separated. I have to say, I'm glad things worked out the way they did, there's not an out-of-place person in our family.

same here. i probably wouldnt have been happy depending on the person. which is why whenever i get married, ill be sure none of us stop loving each other...

Glade to here most of you thus far has grown up with both parents or were able to get along with your step parents. One of my friends beat his step dad up pretty bad at 17 when he tried to hit him. This was after years of being hit by his step dad. He never touched him after that. Most I knew never got hit they just didn't like have another guy/women coming into the house. It seems like girls hate step moms and boys hate step dads.

If I marry the girl i'm with now I will be a good step dad to her son, hopefully he will keep liking me.
