Crichton, the author of "Jurassic Park" and many other titles, has died at the age of 66. I found this out at the dead pool site I'm a part of.

Here's a link to an obit: http://www.baltimoresun.com/entertainment/booksmags/bal-lifestyle-crichton1105,0,7953272.story?track=rss

I read about this earlier. Actually, kinda surprised. I loved the Andromeda Strain. Damn good book and the original movie was amazing.

It is very surprising, especially since this is the last season of ER. He created so many great stories. He was one of my favorite authors. I own most of his books.

I think he had brilliant, even groundbreaking, ideas. But overall he was a rather poor writer. His prose was too prosaic and lacked the spark that make great books. To quote his own writing: "He has what I call 'Thinktelligence'".

                            Nevertheless,R.I.P.

Michael Crichton was the Di Vinci of our generation. I liked Disclosure where Demi Moore sexually harasses Michael Douglas in a Virtual Reality World.
