Guild Navigator hit the nail on the head...nothin's more gratifying than a beautiful woman cooking and serving you a good meal. I remember my old roommate's girlfriend cooked me a steak whilst I watched TV. I'm pretty sure that was the greatest day ever. I'm also pretty sure she wanted to spoon with me as well...
It's only because they never put attractive male cooks on television. And you'll never see women like Julia Child doing TV cooking anymore. Now all they want are annoying breasted women who make up childish terms like EVOO that only appeal to similar air-headed soccer moms.

...and to dull-witted single guys like me with nothing better to watch! I'd probably pay more attention to the woman than what she's actually cooking. In fact, if there were such a show and you were to ask me at the end of the show what she cooked, I likely couldn't tell ya :o

I don't care for Rachael Ray for the same reason (because of her grating, masculine voice) and I don't care for Giada because she over-pronounces Italian words like "ricotta" and "prosciutto". To be honest, I love this beautiful English lady:
