Well everybody, the big man has left the stage.

Leonard Nimoy certainly had his share of character actor parts in the early 1960's but he made quite an impression on Gene Roddenberry, who kept Leonard in mind when he was developing a science fiction project for television.

Mr. Nimoy changed the face of sci-fi forever.
This is a tough one for me evrybody.

Leonard Nimoy in many of the interviews he gave after Star Trek reminded me of the influence Jewish culture has in American entertainment, starting with comic book heroes like Superman, aka (Kal-El). Leonard Nimoy explored Jewish themes in some of his writings and he narrated a series of stories for NPR.

Mr. Nimoy once joked how he was surrounded by a group of NASA scientists at one of his public appearances. They were so eager to tell him about the details of the work they were doing. Leonard didn't have the heart to explain to them that he wasn't a scientist and didn't understand half of what they were saying!

Moments like that made him realize the tremendous impact his Star Trek character had on an entire generation.

Great actor, shame he died this year. Glad those WBC bastards and bitches didn't come to his funeral.

We shall miss Spock and Nimoy.
