I consider this to be John Hughes' magnum opus.

The idea of playing Hookey, usually bothers me (I have a fear of ever getting myself to cut a day of school.), but this was a brilliant little comedy!

Matt Broderick did a great job, and I kept saying the whole time I watched this, "don't let him get caught please!!!"

Gotta love it!!!!!! =)))))

It may sound stupid, but this movie changed my entire life when I saw it. This is my favorite movie of all time, and if I ever see Alan Ruck somewhere, I'm gonna run up to that man, give him a huge hug and thank him, because if i weren't for Cameron, my life would suck.

This movie depicts the dreams of every high school kid and adult anywhere on this planet! Playing hookie from school is still the greatest game of all time, but Ferris and Cameron do it in style! The way hookie was meant to be played! The best line from the movie is "You hit me. No, I lightly tapped you! No, You hit me!" Edward Rooney meets his challenge and gets his ass handed to him in the end. I can't and won't tell you how. A classic experience that never gets old!

skervich Posted 12 years 9 months ago
I couldn't skip a day of school and not watch this. Kinda sad, but when you're 12 or 13, just old enough to be left home alone, it feels sweet to live vicariously through the master.
LilcaAngle Posted 12 years 11 months ago

Such an American Movie Classic. It taught me if I ever need to get miles off a car, just drive it backward.
jazo Posted 13 years 9 months ago
Another great classic. Love it. I actually own it on DVD.
Moof Posted 13 years 9 months ago
Wow, how could I have forgotten about this movie? Seen it more times than I can count, but not recently. Definitely going to have to pick up a DVD of this movie.

shiroihikari Posted 15 years 14 days ago
This movie was pretty hilarious; I love Matthew Broderick. I didn't see this until I was older though.
MysticalChicken Posted 15 years 4 months ago
I was talking with a friend on AIM one day in 2004 and she mentioned this movie; I said I'd never seen it and she replied with "WHAAAAAA??!??!?" So I caught the crappy edited version on like TNT or something, and laughed my ass off, and subsequently bought the DVD. This is now my favorite 80's movie.

"Would you like a gummy bear? I've been keeping them in my pocket. They're real warm and soft."

(And the little kids in the museum in a line, holding hands, were about the same age I was when the movie first came out.)

This movie wsa the catalyst for my ditching career in high school. While I did not have a friend with a Ferrari, my friends and i had many great adventures, and we seemed to be uncatchable. Great film.
