I sell DVD's that I find at thrift and pawn shops. I've found 3 DVD copies of this movie over the last 6 months. They have sold pretty well.

I saw this movie so many times growing up that when someone tells me they've never seen it totally blows my mind. I quote Wayne's World 2, slightly different, to them. "If you lived in the 80's The Goonies was issued to you. It came in the mail with samples of Tide."
clanman Posted 8 years 1 month ago
Great Story, very original. Went to the Cinema with my childhood friends to see this. Had a happy time. It captures the sense of adventure that we all feel as a kid but tend to lose as we get older.
karebear87 Posted 8 years 2 months ago

TowerJunkie Posted 8 years 8 months ago
This has got to be the best "kids" movie ever. It didn't pull any punches, had foul language, federal agents murdered, pirate skeletons, a freakin skeleton piano (liberace?) show me one kids movie today that gets THIS raw. Todays kids are wimps, and their movies illustrate that.
Proud Monkey Posted 8 years 9 months ago
I agree with you guys. One of the best movies ever made. Great story, characters, and pirates. Good times.

ryancallahan92 Posted 9 years 6 months ago
One of the greatest movies of all time still watch often to this day.
TinyTheGiant Posted 9 years 6 months ago
Retro Gamer, I've heard the both Stephen Spielberg and Richard Donner have ideas for a script and want to make it (along with all the actors too), but Warner Bros. thinks that it won't be popular enough.
Oddly enough though, there is a Goonies II game on NES.
Retro Gamer Posted 9 years 6 months ago
Are they going to do a Goonies 2? as i have heard they might do
pwange1337 Posted 9 years 7 months ago
I loved this movie...
Mikey_Mouth_N_Chunk Posted 9 years 9 months ago
I saw this movie at first on videocassette at a camp I attended during the summer. I have been hooked since! I am an original Goonie and proud to be, Goonies never say die, Goonies are loyal, Goonies face the heat, Goonies live to be brave. Save the Goondocks!!! R.I.P. Sloth and other cast members who are no longer with us. You are remembered fondly!
GoonDocks Posted 9 years 10 months ago
Just got back from Astoria where The Goonies was filmed. Check out my avatar picture. Look familiar? That is the jail the Fratellis break out of at the start of the movie. I also got a picture at Mikey & Brans house. One of my favorite movies ever!
GoonieFanAlways Posted 9 years 10 months ago
Of course my corny name gives it away, but I will always love this movie. Everytime I watch this movie it brings back so many great and awesome memories. I introduced this to my nephews and they have also loved this movie for a few years and they are still loving it at 15 and 13.

I will never get enough of this movie and I hope my future family loves it as well!

my mum hated me watching it because she said all they do in the film is scream. But I wore out my video of the film, I loved it because it was adventurous with treasure and pirates. We used to go out digging for treasure after watching the movie.

Whats not to love about this movie. Every kid loves a treasure hunt. This movie was the ultimate treasure hunt. Kids on a mission to save their neighborhood, One last chance for an adventure. Add a pirate ship and underground passage ways with riddles and test of friendship, how can you go wrong. This is and always will be my favorite movie of all time. Goooonies!!!!!!!!

I really liked this movie. I just wish that those jerks over at Progressive Boink would stop thinking that they have a proprietery interest in this movie. It's for everyone whose into it...Not just a group of irony-minded elitists like them.

This is one of my favroite movies.
Jake 1079 Posted 13 years 1 month ago
I have fond memory's of me and my sister watching this movie when me were younger. It seamed alot scarier when I was younger (that fat ugly lady always gave me the creeps) the ending was also somthing I found special(when I was younger it made me cry) in a way movies like this will always be somthing special to all of us who like movies for just having a good story plot and ending. (and not just the jacted up computer effects fast face junk and crap we seam to only get today)but I really wish they wearnt making a sequel.why do they always have to ruin the honer that these quality movies stand for by making cheap ass sequels (take disney for example) I just wish they wouldnt do stuff like that.
dramagirl1990 Posted 13 years 1 month ago
this is one of the few movies me & my older sister can agree to watch together
monty_79 Posted 13 years 4 months ago

Forgotten sin Posted 13 years 5 months ago
a fun movie to watch any time. Nothing funnier than the Truffle shuffle.
Musical Warrior Posted 13 years 6 months ago
HEY YOU GUYS!

This is one of the most classic movies ever made, and whoever doesn't appreciate the awesomeness of it needs to have Sloth beat some sense into them. I've probably watched this movie more times than any other movie (except maybe Highlander).

Rocky road...?
ThreePts Posted 13 years 6 months ago
My wife had never seen this movie until i forced her to watch. She still thinks its terrible despite being one of the most popular movies of the 80s. I will keep this DVD in my collection forever.
Cobra Posted 13 years 6 months ago
The Goonies if definately a classic, I don't have this on dvd. but every time it appears on televison, well that's where I am watching it.
k1scholar Posted 13 years 7 months ago
One of the SWEETEST movies of the 80's. Period.
agentkev Posted 13 years 7 months ago
Greatest 80's movie ever The Goonies ruled and still rules to this day!

Take the Oath!

"I will never betray my goon dock friends / We will stick together until the whole world ends / Through heaven and hell, and nuclear war / Good pals like us, will stick like tar / In the city, or the country, or the forest, or the boonies / I am proudly declared a fellow Goony."
Celeste Posted 13 years 8 months ago
1985? I was 9 years old when I saw this movie and I still never get tired of it. I watched on TBS Super Station just recently but it's not the same. TBS took a meat cleaver on it. They took things out that shouldn't have been taken out.
I'm surprised that they didn't mention that Josh Brolin is the son of actor James Brolin and the stepson of Barbra Streisen.
Ri-chan, Jedi Knight Posted 13 years 8 months ago
I grew up with this movie, and I recall watching it in the theaters when I was really young.
mrs.link Posted 13 years 9 months ago
one of the coolest movies ever. I liked that suave kid with the comb and hair. A true classic this is. I have it on DVD, and still watch it from time to time. Hehehe, i think i remember hearing somewhere that when they first saw the pirate ship in the cave, someone said woooooow, and it wasnt in the script, it was just cuz they thought the crew had done a incredible job on making the ship. i dont blame the kid, it was pretty amazing.
Thom31 Posted 13 years 10 months ago
Still one of the greatest movies of all time. This film has everything, an amazing fantasy world full of mystery and adventure, laughs, suspense, smart-mouthed kids, and a soundtrack with Cyndi Lauper. Unfortunately I have a friend who didn't see this film until he was almost 20 and he said he hated it. Perhaps its the belief in almost anything when we are young and impressionable that keeps this movie timeless.
Plecostomus Posted 13 years 11 months ago
^Sorry about all the spelling errors. I hit the add button a little early.
Plecostomus Posted 13 years 11 months ago
Several of the actors in this movie continued with successful coreers! The main motivatinoal boy in this film played Sam in the Lord of the Rings.
^ Sorry dude, but you gotta be disturbed to miss a long booring conversation with grandma to watch Short Circuit repeatedly. Just struck me as odd. Sorry.
