clanman Posted 9 years 3 months ago
That scene where He-man transforms is engrained in my mind forever "I have the Powerrrrrrrrrrr! It was more than a little bit annoying. And Skeletor's evil cackle.
palmer10 Posted 9 years 6 months ago
This was my favorite as a kid. Looking back I'd rank Transformers, G.I. Joe, and possibly Thundercats slightly above my old fav. Still a classic.
Optimus77 Posted 9 years 7 months ago
A classic! If you were a little boy in the early 80s then this was part of afternoon Monday through Friday after school! I immediately jumped on the DVDs that were released and it brings so many memories back. Looking back on it the action was cheesey and limited animation but hey we were kids so what the hell did we know?! There is just something about it even now that still makes it great despite the cheesey factor. I'm not big into these remake cartoons of 80s toons but the 2002 Masters of the Universe was excellent! I actually, to some degree, prefer it over the 80s version! They included basically EVERY character that was released for the toyline and didn't get to see on the 80s show (i.e. Stinkor, King Hiss, etc). The action was MUCH better and the story lines deeper. It was such a shame that it was canceled! I would love to see it picked up again. Like I said though, I only prefer it over the 80s He-Man to some degree because the original started it and still has the appeal that my inner 5 year old still holds his plastic glow in the dark magic power sword up high and shouts: BY THE POWER OF GRAYSKULL!!! and aim it at my cat after I yell: I HAVE THE POWERRRRRRR!!!!!
Darth_Rankine Posted 9 years 7 months ago
I miss the good ol' days. This, Thundercats, GI Joe, and the Transformers were the best part of growing up in the 80's

This was my show!!MUCH better than that rainbow bright, the midget horses and Jem.
Sarge_From_Wackbag Posted 11 years 7 days ago
Agreed. The BEST cartoons for us tikes back then. Thundercats couldn't hold a fart in the wind compared to HE-MAN.
jkalmik Posted 11 years 2 months ago
By far the best cartoon ever. Huge part of my childhood and nothing ever came close to it again. Had every toy there was. Very under-rated!
oldschoolgal1 Posted 11 years 2 months ago

He-man and the Masters of the Universe is definitely my favorite cartoon of all time. This show was so cool. I still watch this today.
bennysan Posted 12 years 1 month ago
Man.... i loved it .... teela was hot.... but i have to say that nowadays i`d rather pick evil-lynn for a date.... and nothin´ would be cooler than my own Battle-cat.... does anybody knows if the rumors `bout a new movie are true... cuz` dolph lundgren really sucked and the story and characters of the old movie have not been authentic at all...
AfroPimpChin Posted 12 years 2 months ago
Prince Adam/He-Man's Haircut was pretty gay, but he was hard as fuck so its cool. Loved this show too
Pastor_G Posted 12 years 2 months ago

TV1985 Posted 12 years 5 months ago
One episode that I remember very well from this classic He-man series is "The Cat and the Spider."

Here is the episode on YouTube:

Just remember that it's a 3-Part video.
MicroMan Posted 12 years 6 months ago
Orko just rules!!! He was my favorite character.
2ndchanceretrojunk Posted 12 years 6 months ago
My brother had the action figure!
ihitgspots123 Posted 12 years 7 months ago
HeMan was the SHIT yo!!! Whoever keeps having this debate about whether or not HeMan was gay because he wore tights and they were purple needs to STOP...i mean, HeMan was brought into fruition as a childlike counterpart to CONAN THE BARBARIAN for cripes sake!!! And whoever said Dragonball Z is BETTER than HeMan...feel free to smack yourself at any time

pearljamownzyou Posted 13 years 23 days ago
I had all of the toys when I was a kid, I probably still have them in the garage back home.

buddyluv Posted 13 years 2 months ago
Did anyone else notice that after the lengthy explanation, he punches his "listener" in the face? Does that seem odd to anyone else?

Nostalgiascape Posted 13 years 8 months ago
This cartoon was the top boy toon of the 80's.
HBarca Posted 13 years 8 months ago
Can someone please get rid of that irritating german intro they have, it blows chunks.
Za_Tygra Posted 13 years 9 months ago
might I add that my son has a skeletor hot-wheels car (masters of the universe series) it was all I could find in the shop.
Za_Tygra Posted 13 years 9 months ago

taztj77 Posted 14 years 1 month ago
I know what you mean were they trying to make a mini porno for kids an just kept it on the downlow but I loved this show an still how are she-ra and he-man related but have different parents an live on different planets.
moustachio Posted 14 years 1 month ago
I am the biggest Masters of the Universe fan i know, i collect the toys and watch the show all the time, but i am still trying to get over how everyone is wearing such damn revealing clothing! Teela and He-man are either half naked or wearing a lot of flesh coloured clothes!
Daniel_BMS Posted 14 years 2 months ago
What the? This intro that ends in "The Evil Masters of the Universe." was not aired on TV at all. The final version ends in "The evil forces of skeletor."
jaklumen Posted 14 years 3 months ago
Filmation really knew how to do cartoons and superheroes in general (Shazam! and Isis were earlier projects), although they were never as prolific as Hanna-Barbera.

I remember the show had a few deviations from the original presentation of the characters in the toy line-- Zodiac was a 'good guy', Teela was not a goddess but a regular woman, and The Sorceress was added. But it was a good show and was cast in the mold of kids' shows at that time with moral messages. Most of my friends generally prefer this version-- an updated version was produced for Cartoon Network's Toonami lineup about 6 years ago, that was a little more faithful to the original characters in some aspects. I like both versions, but this original show had a little more spirit and good vibe to it.
CHANCE_SUNDANCE Posted 14 years 4 months ago
Hahaha , Iliked the German dub(intro 2)
Allison_SNLKid Posted 14 years 5 months ago
Did anyone watch Intro 2? Oh my god, I was just laughing hysterical over it!! As if He-Man already didn't seem extremely flamboyant, the dubbed voiceover couldn't have made it more obvious! It sounds like a Spanish commercial--the narrator screams the dialogue!

On a side note, I like how He-Man only shows his "good side."
Allison_SNLKid Posted 14 years 5 months ago
I'm a girl, and He-Man is awesome! I had She-Ra toys. this intro is hysterical. I love how when Adam becomes He-Man, his voice echoes. My boyfriend and I watch this for shits and giggles--we always laugh at the intro. Ironically, He-Man and I have the same haircut--except my hair is dyed blonde and I'm growing out my bangs.

"I am He-Man, Master of the Universe! By the power of Greyskull, I HAVE THE POWER!" Oh hell yeah, who hasn't yelled that at some point in their life? Admit it kiddies, you did. Even I did. I said it.
Athena9188 Posted 14 years 5 months ago
I loved this show..especially since i was/am such a tomboy.
Moonxtal Posted 14 years 6 months ago
Oh yeah, I'm a girl and even I watched He-man! I watched She-ra too, but He-man sticks out in my mind a bit more. Mainly because I was mesmerized by skeletor's floating lower jaw. But yeah, He-man was the MAN!
becks Posted 14 years 7 months ago
as kids me and my brothers worshiped this programe. so our mum went out and got the boys he-man outfits and me a she-ra one. good we thought we were the coolist kids on da block!! terrorising everyone with our swords. what a kids classic tv programe!! love watching to this day still.......
robmon300 Posted 14 years 7 months ago

vantera Posted 14 years 8 months ago
I read a comment on here before that said he man and she ra were brother and sister, then there was another one from someone trying to correct it and say they were cousins. Well they are actually bro and sis!!! I still have the movie "He Man and She Ra-Secret of the Sword" which clearly states they are bro and sis
regular_joe Posted 14 years 8 months ago
This show was only on for 2 years, originaly? I thought it was longer than that.
SummertmeBrews Posted 14 years 8 months ago
I HAVE THE POWER!! My mom didnt like us watching this just because it scared us the first time and then after. But the show will always rock! Just because it had some of the great characters ever thought up. It set the Trend for other shows like it moreless. An absolute Gem!
Retro_Mania Posted 14 years 8 months ago
i love it. btw 2 guys for the cast? wow
kimsy520 Posted 14 years 9 months ago
classic cartoon I watched this and She-Ra
Benjo Posted 14 years 10 months ago
The best 80s cartoon. You know that you love it.

It's so great that this show is out on DVD, finally. I have to say that few cartoons hold up after 20 years, but He-Man is still as fun and as watchable as it ever was.
Ri-chan_Jedi_Knight Posted 14 years 10 months ago
One of the greatest cartoons ever made, and certainly one of my most favorities! I've been happy to add episodes of this to my cartoon collection for my future generation. People took more pride in the 80's cartoons! Better color, graphics, sounds, storylines, and they were good at using morals and safety tips. One of the best things about the He-Man cartoons were that they would explain a moral or tip after each episode, based on what happened. The older cartoons focused more good vs. evil and morals. The cartoons of today are poor in quality and a waste of effort. I feel sorry for the kids of today.
Skeletor Posted 14 years 10 months ago
Okay, here's the thing; After the GREAT UNREST ( which was like WWII x 10) Eternia's population was dangerously low. So the COUNCIL OF ELDERS orderd everyone to wear tight revieling outfits to show off our subtilties to the opposite sex (p.s. mission accomplished), the entire planet became 1 big nude love in! HEHE HHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Unfortunatly the elders dissapered before they could change the dress code back and no one blows they're nose without a word from the elders. So now Eternia is 50% love in & 50% ass wooping. Go fig'.
Skeletor Posted 14 years 10 months ago
Let me ask all of you something, why does everyone think I'm gay? I'm so not gay! Don't you think I wanted to screw Evil-lin? Ofcourse I did, the thing is she's a dike.
Retroman25 Posted 14 years 10 months ago
Man I never get tired of hearing the xylophone beginning.
Skeletor Posted 14 years 10 months ago
WRONG SWAYNER!! I love everything about this show and everyone on it, except for that jugg headed bastard He-man always kicking my ass! And the sorcerrus, oooh don't get me started on her. Anyway, I'm just saying that someone should have come up with the concept of T.V! It's a very simple thing, hell even Beastman would get it. I mean I could have been watching the history channel and getting ideas from Alexander the great or Napoleon! Castle Greyskull would be mine!!!
steveland76 Posted 14 years 11 months ago
This was one of my favorite shows back then. I loved pretty much all of the characters. Even back then, when I was a little boy, I loved the females. So, I really looked forward to watching Teela in every episode she was featured in. I used to think that Prince Adam, and Teela used to go together back then. I definitely felt that if the show had continued there would have been a storyline where Adam and Teela would have "hooked up". I wouldn't have balmed him if he did, 'cause for an animated character, Teela was tight. She had a ridiculous posterior!
swayner_4-20 Posted 14 years 11 months ago
Hey Skeletor, ironic that your username is from a show you so obviouslly despise! Any way, I loved this show, and all I'll say is that the new series that used to air about what, 2 years ago, was CRAAPP!! This is the original, one of a kind show.
Skeletor Posted 14 years 11 months ago
1 thing I never understood about this show. With all the advanced technology on Eternia you'd think they would have T.V! I mean, it gives everyone something to do between fighting and doing chores! You know, wile coming up with a new plan to take castle greyskull I could be watching south park or Too late with Adam Carola or Naruto insted of sitting on my ass bord ass hell!
CanadianWeirdAlFan Posted 14 years 11 months ago
He-Man and She-ra were both so awesome! Orko was a cool character.

I hated it when YTV brought back He-Man..the animation was horrible! They completely changed it!! I couldn't stand watching this new version for more than 2 seconds. They made Orko so ugly!! Poor Orko.
Why do they take beloved 80s cartoons and decide to change the animation??

Anyway, He-man & She-ra were cool shows.
mrs-link Posted 14 years 11 months ago
ya know i got a feelin this guy and the thundercats would get along very nicely...

DieYuppieScum Posted 15 years 27 days ago
I always loved cringer. and he kicked ass when he turned in to battle cat... there was nothing gay about that Tiger. He was 100% badass or 100% coward. Either way I thought he was a great character and was well designed.
coffy78 Posted 15 years 1 month ago
By thabz On 08/11/2005
this was good cartoon but even as a kid the thing that puzzled me was why couldn't people see that this was the same person (prince Adam)!! I mean c'mon, this guy had the worst disguise since Clark Kent!!!!

I've been wondering the same thing. It would make since if He-Man and Adam had different hair or something.
Afficial Posted 15 years 2 months ago
in the intro, why does it say at the end "Together, we defend Castle Greyskull from the evil Masters of the Universe!", it should be "from the evil forces of Skeletor"
TV1985 Posted 15 years 2 months ago
He-Man and the Masters of the Universe was one of my favorite 80's cartoon.

I recently bought "The Best of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe" on DVD. It has the top 5 best episodes from both season 1 and 2 of He-Man. I hope that all 130 episodes of He-Man will be released. Along with the animated movie "He-Man and She-Ra: The Secret of the Sword."
robmon300 Posted 15 years 2 months ago
this show is still cool
