I grew up with this movie. My parents said it was the only thing that would put me to sleep. By the age of 7 i would put this video in and sing along to every word.

I remember being forced to watch this movie in latchkey (after school program) over and over again. I still love it, though.

I found out just a few months ago that Shelly Winters, the actress who did the role of Lena Gogan in Pete's Dragon passed away last year (1/14/2006).

To Shelly Winters: R.I.P.

This is my favorite disney movie. I had just found a copy of it at a flea market at a steal price of only four dollars. Disney HAS to make a sequel to this movie!

One of the most amusing and magican Disney musicals of all time, Pete's Dragon is the story of orphaned boy Pete who rans away from his abusive owners into the village of Passamaquoddy. With the company of his invisible dragon, Elliott, Pete finds a home with lighthouse keeper Nora and her father Lampie. The three of them join together to save both Pete and Elliott from the wicked Gogan family and a pair of evil-doing villains, Doc Terminus and Hoagie.
