Jeopardy!
Debut: March 30, 1964

Jeopardy! is a game show created by the game show great Merv Griffin. Contestants pick from six categories, ranging from science, to pop culture, to language puzzles. Each column of categories has five dollar amounts to pick from. Each dollar amount gives a clue in the form of an answer and the player must present a question (Who is?...What is?...etc.) Guessing correctly gives the player that dollar amount but an incorrect guess subtracts it. There are three rounds, Jeopardy, Double Jeopardy, where dollar amounts are doubled, and Final Jeopardy, where the players must wager an amount of money and give a correct answer for one clue. Originally hosted by Art Fleming from 1964 to 1975 the show was rebooted in 1984 with longtime host Alex Trebek who would host up until his 2020 death. Following his death, the show would run through a series of guest hosts before it settled with two full-time hosts. The first was Ken Jennings, who holds the record for most consecutive games won at 74, and the second was actress and neurologist Mayim Bialik who would rotate hosting duties with Ken until departing in December, 2023.
