Also known as The Creeping Unknown. A space ship crashes back on Earth with one astronaut having returned alive. The two other men on the mission have disappeared. The surviving astronaut has been infected with a alien organism that slowly begins to mutate him. The astronaut escapes leaving only Professor Quatermass and Scotland Yard to stop him. If not the mutated astronaut could spawn and take over the Earth. Directed by Val Guest and produced by the legendary Hammer Film Productions. Based on the 1953 BBC Television serial The Quatermass Experiment written by Nigel Kneale. The film was followed by two sequels Quatermass 2 (1957) and Quatermass and the Pit (1967). The film has since been released Kino Lorber.
