The Powerpuff Girls Movie
Release: June 22, 2002

The Powerpuff Girls Movie might well be the first and only theatrically released big screen feature film to ever portray a kindergartner hero (or, in this case, three cute if deformed kindergarten children who happened to fight monsters with their rather super-heroic powers) at the heart of an epic tale. Through an epic story of a troubled town and unprecedented evil, the film, notorious in many circles for being the only theatrically released big screen feature length movie ever based on a Cartoon Network original TV show, and the fact that, as a critical and box office failure, it barred Cartoon Network from ever returning to the big movie screen again, and which is long unavailable but never forgotten to fans of the original Powerpuff Girls series, reveals the origins of the adorable super heroic kindergartner trio of the title (consisting of the resourceful Blossom (Catherine Cavadini), the aptly named Bubbles (Tara Strong), and the tomboyish Buttercup (Elizabeth Daily), respectively) and how they first came to reliably save the world (and Townsville) before bedtime.
