Pamela Pearl (Trini Alvarado), the repressed, unhappy daughter of a New York politician (Peter Coffield) joins up with street punk Nicky Maratta (Robin Johnson) and the two run away to live in the abandoned piers. But when local DJ Johnny LaGuardia (Tim Curry) gets wind of the situation, the girls wind up becoming the outlaw cult icons "The Sleeze Sisters" and Nicky launches a musical career. Although it already pushed plausibility, the film suffered badly when it was taken out of the hands of writer/director Alan Moyle (PUMP UP THE VOLUME), and various musical sequences were added to merit a double-album soundtrack. The result was a choppy film with a schizophrenic soundtrack that failed to do anything at the box-office -- but over time, the film's developed a cult status all its own on VHS/DVD.
