The Lonely Guy
Release: January 01, 1984

This film is for lonely guys everywhere. From the dawn of time to a thousand years into the future; from Asia to Africa, there will always be one, but this is the story of New Yorker Larry Hubbard who finds himself single after being dumped by his girlfriend. With the help of the equally lonely Warren, Larry settles into his new life. When he meets Iris, he tries to court her. However, she shrugs him off because he's too "perfect" for her. Larry takes his experiences and writes a book that becomes a best-seller. But with all his success, he still pines for Iris, who is still fears of getting hurt (even after 6 husbands). Inspired by Bruce Jay Friedman's tongue-in-cheek survival manual "The Lonely Guy's Book of Life". Produced & directed by Arthur Hiller. Starring Steve Martin, Charles Grodin, Judith Ivey, and Steve Lawrence.
