The Daytime Emmy Award is an American accolade bestowed by the New York–based National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in recognition of excellence in American daytime television programming. Ceremonies generally are held in May or June. The ceremony has been broadcast in Priemtime since 1991 and initially rotated among the four broadcast channels. Airing online only in 2014 the ceremony returned to TV in 2016 on cable channel Pop!
