The MacNeil-Lehrer NewsHour
Debut: December 15, 1983
Ended: December 15, 1995

The original version of the PBS NewsHour as first aired in 1975. The program was first created by Robert MacNeil and Jim Lehrer after their award-winning coverage of the Watergate scandal. The program went in-depth with extended-length interviews that the other news shows on the "big three" networks did not feature. MacNeil left the program in the 1990s.
