The Greatest Story Ever Told is a 1965 American epic film produced and directed by George Stevens. It is a retelling of the Biblical account about Jesus of Nazareth, from the Nativity through to the Ascension. Along with the ensemble cast, it marked Claude Rains's final film role. The film dramatizes the entire life of Jesus. Beginning with Three Wise Men arriving in Bethlehem to see his birth, the film follows his Baptism by St. John the Baptist and all the way up to his spread of the Gospel across the land until his crucifixion and rise from the dead.
