Weekend Today

Debut: September 20, 1987

NBC News began to premiere a weekend morning program: Weekend Today (which originally titled Sunday Today) on September 20, 1987. On August 1, 1992, the Saturday edition of Weekend Today debuts. The Sunday edition of the program was once again titled: "Sunday Today with Willie Geist", which debut on April 17, 2016. In December 2020, the Saturday edition of the Today broadcast permanent relocated to the NBC News' refurbished Washington, D.C. bureau facility (near Capitol Hill).
