A holiday special starring Shrek and the gang set between Shrek the Third and Shrek Forever After. When the Christmas season arrives, Shrek reluctantly promises a "special Christmas surprise" to Donkey's urging. Not knowing what Christmas is really about, Shrek goes to Far Far Away where he finds a copy of the book "Christmas for Village Idiots". Following the book's advice, he sets up a traditional Christmas and decorates the house but when Donkey brings the entire "family" to the swamp, Shrek's plans for a quiet Christmas may be ruined.
