Rasen was Intended to be the original sequel to Ringu and was released at the same time as well but sadly due to the overwhelming success of the Ringu, Rasen fell into obscurity. It is not in continiuty with the rest of the Ringu series in Japan. Pathologist Mitsuo Andou is examining the body of Ryuji Takayama and finds a horrifying note in his stomach. Soon the bodies of Reiko and Yoichi Asakawa are found dead along with the curse video tape. Andou watches the video tape and finds out the curse is true and has different plans for him. He joins Mai Takano (TAkayama's former student) to try and solve the curse before it's too late.
