The Cotton Club
Release: December 14, 1984

The famed Harlem nightclub is the setting for this story of many people. While horn player Dixie Dwyer (Richard Gere) romances singer Vera Cicero (Diane Lane), the girlfriend of gangster Dutch Schultz (James Remar), club owner Owney Madden (Bob Hoskins) deals with racism accusations, and the tap-dancing Williams Brothers, Sandman (the late Gregory Hines) and Clay (Gregory's real-life brother Maurice), try and mend their relationship. The movie has a great design and wonderful music. I would recommend seeing it. Many critics hated it, but it's a pretty enjoyable piece...At least I think so.
