My list is as follows in no perticular order: -Napolean Dynamite- So stupid, not even stupid funny -Tommy Boy- Like Napolean, Stupid -You Got Served- could of been better if there was hardcore violence between the servers and the servees -Scary Movie 4- Tries to hard for a laugh
--That's my story and I'm sticking to it
..for one to conquer all odds makes him a champion, but for all to conquer one great odd makes them legends..
some movies that are overrated in my opinion include but are not limited to
The Big lebowsky
office space
the crow
titanic
the matrix The boondock saints as much as I love this movie I will say it is over rated but only because of WHY it is praised, the idiots who love the killing only and don't recognize the meaning behind the killings or anything about the catholic faith or Irish/Gaelic beliefs (I myself am 2nd genration Irish and can understand Gaelic... but cannot speak it)

Yeah, The media jumped all over that one when Columbine happened.
thats because his movies are the same ones over and over... I will give him credit for one thing.... and it's before everyone knew who he was... Night at the roxbury... that was a funny movie
titanic sucks a big one due to the celine dion song and the horrible ending. i wish the old lady, when she went to throw the diamond/sapphire/whatever jewel it was-over the side of the boat, that she had slipped and fallen in.
movies of hype: the matrix series n. dynamite (i do like it. just an odd and interesting movie.) scarface the ring (the best part from the first one is when the horse dies) the grudge (not scary or very interesting) fast and the furious (managed to watch this one while flying from detroit to amsterdam with no sound. the cars were nice to look at and the hot babes. but outside of that mess, the movis was garbage)
and have you noticed how for every piece of crap movie there is some loser from a t.v. station/radio station you have never heard of nor ever will again commenting on how good the movie is? that's the stuff i detest with movie advertising.

i think matrix 1 isnt overrated. it captured beautifully on film what comic boosk and anime have doen for years. suspending the moments of importance. brilliant.
American History X: good, but one of the best of all time? Not really. They should have gotten someone better than Edward Furlong.
Napoleon Dynamite: For me the funniest part was when they shot the cow in front of the bus full of kids. Other than that though I don't recall laughing less at a comedy. The main character was pretty unsympathetic. He brought everything on himself it seemed. As far as comedies about nerds Revenge of the Nerds beats this.
Matrix: I enjoyed it but IMO this one is overrated too. I think it was praised highly because of how burned people felt about the new Star Wars. Some good action but it tries too hard to seem deep.

Office Space. It was amusing, and it had its moments, but it wasn't the laugh riot other people made it out to be.
"Preserving the old ways from being abused, Protecting the new ways for me and for you. What more can we do?" --The Kinks, "Village Green Preservation Society"

Agreed on all and add All the Fast and the Furious films. There are way better films out there with car chases in them. My older brother likes these films and I think he is crazy. People need to start watching The Road Warrior more for real car chases.
Anything else that I find depressing is overrated as well. I want to be happy with life and not depressing myself to no end.
Most modern films in general are overrated because they are unoriginal and have shaky cameras that make it look like it is being filmed with a video camera.
