A movie that I just thought of again today after so many years I can't even remember when I saw it.

The gist of the movie, I believe, was that a father and son were in some sort of accident and gained the power to regenerate from any injury, as long as they were in the light. If they were put into the dark for any expended time, they would die.

There was a scene early on where the dad is experimenting with lab mice exposed to the same stuff that he put in a freezer, and they died. He thought it was the cold initially, but later figured out it was the dark.

I seem to remember later on the son being in a van of some sort (possibly armored car) that fell into a large body of water. Wasn't worried about drowning, but the fact that it was dark.

I also remember another scene where the dad and either the mom/girlfriend/other female character had to get into a place, and the only option was to have the dad jump down three or four stories. He objected, she mentioned "Well its not like the fall could kill you." To which he responds with something along the lines of "Yeah, but it still hurts!"

Anybody know what this movie was called?

I think Straydog, 80'skidvidd, or Strykor can figure this out.

It does seem like it would have a toyline, But I guess not since its live-action.

Did the dad later become birdman?
I'm only 22, but why does this place make me feel old?

Where's the "Buy a Clue" machine when I need it?

Seriously, without more info, like year, LA or Ani, and M4TV or BSc, I just have no idea what it could be.

Damn, I knew that it sounded familiar. "I-Man," which was featured in that special about failed TV Pilots (which taky recently started a thread about).

I was going to ask why it's on DVD when there are so many other '80s Disney classics that have been overlooked, but then I realized that it's a region 2 disc....

I'll have to check that one out. I notice that Disney's been releasing a lot of their more obscure 80's classics lately. I'm still holding out for the official release of Condor Man!
