Does anyone remember a show proabably on PBS that they would tell you a story as they were doing a pastel like chalk picture? The main one I can remember is Hanzel and Gretel.

Naw, I've seen Simon, that's not it.

Sounds like the kind of thow I'd be watching..I was a PBS fiend in the late 80s. But I don't recall.

Simon and the Land of Chalk Drawings was a part of Romper Room (as far as I know). I sort of know what you're talking about, a show like Bob Ross', but it's been too long since I've seen it, it's just not showing up in my mind.

Was it done by a man and a lady or just a man?

I remember this but I don't know the name. In fact, I watched it a couple weeks ago. It's just a guy telling stories and drawing them with chalk/charcoal, he's a very good artist.

I think the show is called something like Storytellers or something like that. I think the guy is Paul Lally who is possibly the same guy who went on to become The Gentle Giant. The Gentle Giant was a similar themed show only the stories were told through actual visual presentations. The one story I remember the most from The Gentle Giant is The Snow Queen. That was the one story that was on the most in the repeats.

Could I be read if I were see-through or would you just read my spine?

Yep, I remember the name Gather Round now. I have actually seen that show on my local PBS on rare occasions. My local PBS seems to stick with newer shows from 1998 to the present as far as their instructional television is concerned although they still show all of those old WestWoods cartoons, 321 Classroom Contact , Bill Nye, Cover to Cover, The Magic Library are just the few older programs that I can recall seeing lately.
