I heard of it, but never saw it.

Well, people often forget that. Without that show, there would of been no Nickelodeon.

They NEED to have an old-school Nickelodeon channel.

Wow, you go WAAAAAY back, especially since you consider circa-1985 as the "new" Nick. This is just me, but I actually like the 1985-current logo. The pinball one is just too dated. I have 4 videos of pinball era recordings, mostly YCDTOTV and one of Pinwheel.

Did you tape anything from the "pinball" days?

Back in the day, I had a bunch of (to me) old Nick stuff on tape.

A few episodes of Turkey TV (They always played the "Fish Heads" video)
a few of Danger Mouse, and YCDTOT. But as I grew, over the years, I either lost them, or taped over it.

*hitting myself - especially recording over the Turkey TV eps.*

Fortunately, I have both the Danger Mouse DVD sets.

(EDIT) BTW - Did anyone here have Nickelodeon when it was still know as the Pinwheel Channel on Qube in Ohio? Just curious if anyone remembers from back to those days...

We obviously know this one. No one on this site isn't going to pick the "new" Nickelodeon or at least I don't think so. We didn't grow up with the "new" Nickelodeon.

There's no question about this one! Old Nick had Rugrats, Doug, Ren & Stimpy, Rocko's Modern Life, Face on Nick Jr., Legends of the Hidden Temple, Double Dare, GUTS, classic cartoons, and the coolest designed bumpers ever imaginable. New Nick is all Spongebob (and Invader ZIM, but they cancelled that!).

Obviously I'm a fan of old nickelodeon, but it really doesn't have much to do with the shows. I wholeheartedly believe that Nickelodeon could be just as great of a network with the current lineup of shows. Let's face it, when the 7-year-olds of today grow up they will look back just as fondly on the shows they grew up with. What Nickelodeon lost (and what I think is sadder than the change of shows) is that feeling of being more than a channel. When I was a kid, Nickelodeon was a world. It gave kids power to do anything, from throw a pie on the principal's face to change the world with things such as the Big Help. Shows have to change. It's part of TV. But I think its even sadder that Nickelodeon went from being a place of refuge for kids to being a place of refuge for tired parents.

    I don't know...

Yes, I'm one of the few 90s kids that's actually seen You Can't Do That on Television, and a lot of other 80s Nickelodeon shows.
(Even though I have better memories of 90s Nickelodeon.)

I think it's obvious what I'm going to pick:

    OLD NICKELODEON!

Have you seen that show Wayside? It's supposed to be based on those Sideways Stories From Wayside School books but from what I've seen it doesn't look anything like them! I don't even watch the show and I already get that feeling just by looking at it. And for me most of the stuff on Nicktoons Network now is awful and nothing like a true Nicktoon. Maybe Spongebob and Oddparents could be just as great but for the others I'd have to say no.

Without a doubt it's old Nickelodeon. The new Nickelodeon is full of bad shows like the Naked Brothers Band and Back at the Barnyard, these shows STINK. The old Nickelodeon is awesome, especially with Nickelodeon studios and the old Nicktoons.

I remember watching shows like The Elephant Show and Fred Penner's Place.

I even remember when Nick @ Nite had a variety of shows. Now it just seems like it's nonstop Fresh Prince of Bel Air.

New Nick is disrespectful to the new, they pretty much got rid of our time capsule, doesn't play the old shows what so ever(hoards them and doesn't allow them to play anywhere, scopes youtube always for them)

Even though a couple of bumpers from the 90s scared me half to death, I still think that the old Nickelodeon is WAY better than what it is today...
