Sad news, Wal-Mart is cloing as many as 269 stores Nationwide. This is a bad year for the Wal-Mart department store. Does this means all we have is Sears, Target, and Kmart? Here is the details....

I'm relieved none of mine are closing.

Considering they have something like over 11,000 stores and they plan to open even more this year it is not a real big deal. They are probably just closing stores that are not performing well and should not have been opened in the first place.

I am an Amazon shopper anyway

Most people need Walmart for Groceries and other food though. then again the grocery stores is another option.

Why yes. There is Stop and Shop. And Target as well.

Pretty much all retail suffered this year. It's not just Walmart that has hit a rough patch. I imagine you'll see closures from many different big name stores.

Two are closing here in Houston. A friend told me it was crazy insane, like Black Friday as everything was 70% off. These are just low performing stores, probably a lot of them have a high theft rate.

I go to Walmart once a month or so when I need more than just groceries, but otherwise I go to Kroger or HEB. I also have a Sam's membership. The best time to go is in the morning.

    I said this before:

One flaw about Wally World is that they're so limited. A certain movie or show will be on their rack one week, but it may not be there the next. You have to get it while it's still there. If you want it, though. Otherwise, you'll have to go somewhere else to buy it.

Wow! Incredibly misleading (and incorrect) thread title!

And over 100 of the locations closing are Walmart Express stores, not the larger stores.
