No, I was never as Lucky as you in terms of taping stuff.

Though, I wish I had. One of my dreams would be to travel back in time to when I was a kid and tape as many shows/movies/commercials/music videos as possible.

I have some tapes from the mid 80's that are great. I think I was fooling with the VCR at the time. I have one tape with part of a football game, part of a WWF show and the middle of Raiders of the Lost Ark from the ABC Sunday Night movie. GREAT STUFF! I wish I taped more commercials.

I've got dozens and dozens of tapes with movies recorded on them. Think of the commercials...

I have one tape that has nothing but cartoons from the mid '80's on it with tons of commercials. I also have about 3 tapes worth of Christmas specials ranging from 1984 to 1997 with a bunch of old commercials.
Looks like I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue

Some old cartoons from the early 90's and a few X-mas specials. We had that Rudolph X-mas special on TV from 86' until I discovered someone taped a part over it by the Weird-al yak show (DAMN YOU WERID AL! )

MUPPET BABIES...that was the whole darn reason my mom got a VCR, so I could watch Muppet Babies till my eyes came out of my sockets. I had almost every episode on tape at one time, and it's a shame I don't have some of those tapes anymore.

Used to tape the Love Bug movies when they came on with my rabid facination with cars, particularly Herbie. Had almost all of them plus a "backup" copy of "Rides Again"

I had one huge tape of Muppet Babies episodes, with Garfield in Paradise thrown in amongst them, as well as Happy Valentines day Charlie Brown. I also had another with a buttload of vintage Bugs Bunny on it, and another with Back To The Future/Wheres Waldo. I also had the infamous tape of PeeWee's Playhouse from right before PeeWee's little "incident", that tape of which used to scare the lilly livin' Bejebus out of me...heck, PeeWee used to scare the living daylights out of me.

I remember taping a really cool old show called "Americas Funniest Commercials" which was a special during the Americas Funniest ***** craze of the early 90's. I can recall maybe one or two commercials from the whole show though.

I used to dig around for tapes with extra space to tape Captain N: The Game Master from the age of 9 to 11. Man I loved that show, and kinda had a crush on Princess Lana. I know one of mom's Star Trek TNG tapes has Captain N at the end of it, I actually went on a big wide hunt, and never found the episode oddly enough.

We had tons of TV movies put on tape, that's where I saw Gremlins. I also used to tape what was on the Disney Channel for awhile, I got The Little Mermaid, Care Bears II, and Ollie Hopnoodles Haven Of Bliss that way.

We were tape mad....then it just kinda stopped. I got into retro-gaming, and no more TV time for me, now the only screen I really pay attention to is the LCD that's in front of me now.

I wish my parents had some of those tapes. Lucky for me the local thrift store has lots of old VHS tapes that sometimes has stuff from the 80s and early 90s. My wife and I would spend all day just watching the ads.

I once blew an entire 6-hour tapre recording Nickelodeon shows.

Then when south park came on the air, we used to go through tape after tape recording every single episode we could

I once copied an entire night of SNICK on a 2-hour videotape.

My family recorded a lof of junk. We recorded old CBS specials like Bugs and Daffy video wars, a full 6 hour tape of Tom and Jerry, old movies and Christmas specials, other cartoons, I use to tape a lot of music videos and late nite tv in the late 90s.

I taped most episodes of WWF RAW from 94-96 and some SNME eps from 87-90.

I once had a big ass tape of some original TMNT eps taped over my mom's soaps and my dad's golf tourneys.

I even taped the GI Joe movie when it was shown as a five part miniseries.

1994 Grey Cup (CFL Championship) - BC Lions vs. Baltimore No Names (I don't know where this tape is, but since it was taping while I was at the game, I know there's commercials and I hope the Sapporo Ichiban noodle commercial is on there because that was a classic. I know there's one for Vancouver Grizzlies tickets. It was a one of the classic CFL games, the Lions won.)

Around 1996 or so, I taped Mr. Bean episodes. Around 1997, I taped music videos. Around 1997-1998, I taped South Park. Around 1998-1999, I taped episodes of Mr. Show With Bob and David and also the Tom Green Show (the Canadian version, which is the only true version, not the MTV version.).

Around 2000, I taped the BC Lions playoff games, including the 2000 Grey Cup, where they beat the Montreal Alouettes in Calgary.

From 2002 until last year, me and my brother made tapes of shit from TV, just all mixed up and it was a real potpourri of everything on TV, all condensed. I can't really explain it, but there's LOTS of funny stuff, a lot of few frame clips strung together to make a weird collage of TV. Trust me, it's cool. Just really odd, but I think people on here would appreciate them if they saw them. The VCR that we used to make the tapes on was the only one in the house that you could play the tapes frame-by-frame (So that we could put blips of things in, and there were a lot of few frame blips.). One day, last fall, when I was rewinding a tape we were working on, the VCR made a whirring sound and it wouldn't respond to any of the buttons when we pressed them. We had to unplug it and unscrew the whole thing and carefully dig the tape out, as well as carefully reel the film back into the tape. Luckily there was no damage to the quality of the tape, but the VCR was done (we had it for about 10 or 12 years) We never put the VCR back together and we haven't worked on any tape since.

Nowadays, I just tape sports highlights (The bulk of it is Vancouver Canucks and BC Lions, as well as just overall amazing plays. Also, some funny commercials. Some of that used to go on the weird, mixed up tapes mentioned above.).

I wish me and my brother were old enough to have made those tapes in the 80's and 90's, because I'm sure a lot of the commercials on this site would have parts featured on there.

When I was a little kid, I used to wake my parents up at 6 in the morning. So they got tired of it and taped Saturday Morning cartoons and showed me how to use the VCR. I would get up and watch Saturday Morning cartoons every day of the week. I think I would watch the Flinstone kids, A Pup named Scooby Doo, and I had a tape of the Motorcycle mouse movie. When I was older, I recorded some episodes of Darkwing Duck and Chip N' Dale Rescue Rangers. I think those are laying around my parent's house somewhere.

Oh yeah, back in the late 80's, my parents would tape me and my siblings TGIF each week, and we'd usually watch it the next day. This was back when it was Full House, Perfect Strangers, Family Matters, Mr. Belvedere.
