He quickly became my favorite on the show, especially his conversations with Peter.

I believe Brian will be back. Titles for future episodes in 2014 have leaked, and "Brian" is in a couple of them.

I wonder how shocked people were when they first found out how humanlike Brian was.

Funny animals have been in cartoons for decades. I don't think it was much of a surprise.

He's a good singer too. Can't forget that about him.

How did you feel about the topics of his songs? You strike me as someone who wouldn't always agree with them.

Well, I guess that answers my question, if indirectly.

Proving the continued effectiveness of grassroots protest, Family Guy has answered the call of hundreds of thousands of angry petitioners and agreed to bring back Brian—bowing to the will of the people in a way that is, no doubt, a tribute to the late Nelson Mandela. Truly, Madiba’s spirit lives on today, in the Entertainment Weekly-reported news that a talking cartoon dog will be a part of his show’s Dec. 15 episode, as so many rallied for in the wake of his demise.

Of course, there are some cynics who might say this entire, short-lived affair was all just a publicity stunt from the get-go—that the upcoming episode’s logline, “Stewie devises a master plan to get the one and only thing he wants for Christmas,” was even telegraphed back in the same episode where Brian dies, with its rather obvious cutaway to a time-traveling Stewie getting his Christmas presents early. These skeptics might also argue it was clear the show would never kill such a central, marketable character, even without already knowing he was still listed in the titles of future episodes. But in this moment of democratic victory, anyone who might dismiss the “Bring Back Brian” campaign as pointless would be denying the power of the people that Nelson Mandela spent his life fighting for. Shame on them.

    Well, that didn't take long.

Also, it seems a little weird to invoke Nelson Mandela in an article about bringing back a cartoon dog.

The headline sums up the reason for that pretty neatly. It's a snarky website.

Oh, my mistake. I'm not familiar with the site. I guess that's a lesson to do my homework on a site before commenting on it.

Did they bring him back the same way they brought back Kenny from South Park?

    No. Kenny just came back.
    Brian was rescued.
They said Vinny was going to be here for 6 episodes so I'm wondering what will happen after this episode.

I saw the episode clip on Headline News.

First Brian dies, then he comes back. Seth must've been high when he decided to pull this off.

I think he knew what he was doing. He probably just wanted to grab ratings.
