All I wanted was video embedding in the forums. And we got it...but at what price?

The forums need to be the full width of the page and longer down. Since the update, I have only come to RetroJunk specifically to see if it has been fixed yet. and to rant some more about how much it sucks. This isn't like a facebook update that we can just get used to.

It reminds me of hell if it were wedged between a cubicle and a Starbucks. I miss the bright colors and retro feel

Appreciate the efforts just hope the end product is less Ethan Allen.

The NES controller at the bottom of the page, tells me they wanted that color scheme. Which is fine, and has potential. But I'm not liking it so far. It reminds me of a generic xanga page before you were able to make a custom theme.

It's a downgrade. But as long as the people are here.....

As I already said in another thread...I think the new look is bland. I'm already getting nostalgic for the old retrojunk:

...maybe it's working?

The consensus seems to show that about 95% (maybe 5 out of 100 like it) hate the new look. It's clean, yes... but at what price?

What's wrong...
- There's been no new articles posted since this went up.

- Commercial navigation is a complete mess. You can't sort by decade anymore, and instead it's by page 1-1000+ with a vertical listing of 10, not a table of like 3x5 (4 across by 5 down for a total display of at LEAST 20 per page, possibly more).

- The blandness of the colors with no watermark background makes it look so generic as if it were whipped with basic HTML-4 knowledge and blended with the source material.

- Very little usage of the "retro" characters it doesn't even have any nostalgia feeling. A top black banner that says "RETROJUNK" and that's it?! The navigation buttons are also just plain.

- It logs you out!

- We haven't heard from 'Vertex' since the update to see what's going on and what the dillio is with this site, if there's more-to-come, if this is it, if it's a temporary overlay, if he's redoing it, or if it's going to revert back.

I think he should have left it the old way until the redesign was completely finished.

I have a serious feeling that this is the end of retrojunk, which is a shame. I've loved coming here. It used to look so cool, but now it's crap-ish. I really wish Vertex would speak up as to why he seems to not care about us anymore.
Don't pay any attention to the evil spirited and dead of heart. They're not worth your time.

Damn what the hell happened to the site? The old design wasn't fantastic, but it was simple and nostalgic. This new design is horrid.

We should look into finding a fall back forum/chat room in the event this place closes down. That way we don't loose contact with each other.

That would be sad if it went away. I'm not on here constantly and I don't post everyday, but i've posted enough over the years that I recognize the names that post and have seen the same ones of us over the years.

I just want to know where everybody went. These boards are DEAD ever since the change (not that we ever had much traffic).

Also, the Users Online bar is a bit on the creepy side...

What's so creepy about it? It's shows you who is online 2 the moment. I think it's practical.

As for the new layout, I have no choice but to get used to it.

I'm guessing we could always go to http://generationz.jfbs.net I tried to get ahold of the owner over there, but I'm having a hard time doing it. I'm sure anyone would be welcomed with open arms.

I doubt it's going away. I doubt that Vertex would let that happen.

@retroguy78: Posting an ultimatum like that isn't going to have any effect at all on the site. All it's going to do is make everyone start making fun of you for having posted it.
It's not that I'm not feeling similarly fed up, but this course of action just isn't going to even come close to getting you what you want.

We should appreciate Vertex's effort, but I think that the site is too broken. I hope all the bugs get evened out.

-The search bar isn't working
-Articles are a bit off

Hate it. I hardly ever visit the site anymore and have stopped working on all articles ever since the change.

I feel like the forums were simply ported over to a new format and completely forgotten about. It's really a shame. And, since no one else is asking, Where might my user forms be at?

Sorry to say but this sucks, luckily there is a plethora of other retro sites out there, its a shame cause this one used to be the BEST. If it's not broke, don't fix it!
