Le sigh...yet another thread with loads of potential descends into a bunch of people crying about one thing over and over again. Move on, people. It's almost been 20 years, and your bitching isn't going to change anything.

But in the spirit of the thread, I'll go with Josie and the Pussycats and Austin Powers in Goldmember, which was the beginning of Beyonce Knowles' illustrious movie career.

Actually Carmen: A Hip Hopera was Beyonce's first starring role. (Produced by Jay-Z, making me hate him forever after.)

I don't think anyone could've saved that movie too, but casting could've been a bit better. For example, the cast for Ken was horrendous, not even slightly resembled the video game character, the cast for Sagat was too old, Raul Julia for Bison was a mistake, Blanka and Dhalsim were horribly made.
Another reason the movie sucked was the story and plot, both were awful.
Van Damme was the only good thing from the movie (big fan of him as a kid).

Another idea for your article maybe the Double Dragon movie made as it sucked, I don't quite remember it, but I do remember it was bad. I agree with everyone except for Raul Julia. I think he brought much needed life in that movie with his wonderful acting. Without him this movie would have NOTHING redeeming in it.

Off the top of my head:

Jurassic Park's sequels, Lost World was not really that bad, but not even close to the original. The whole idea of taking the t-rex to the city was horrible. Part 3 was the worst, it completely sucked for various reasons, such as killing T-rex at the beginning of the movie and using that other lame dinosaur as the main one, velociraptors were made too intelligent with the whole scene where the people interact with them and give them the eggs back, and many more reasons.

Star Wars Episode I was pretty bad with the jar jar bings character. Actually all 3 of the prequels should've never happened, but episode 3 was ok.

Street Fighter movie should've never happened. Horribly made, awful cast choices for the characters save a few exceptions, awful fight scenes, bad acting, etc.
I do agree with the fight scene in Jurassic Park 3(Goddamn that Spinosaurus!).

DOUBLE DRAGON AND MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE!

Two movies so horrid that I blocked them from my memory!

Thank you!.... but now JPRC10 has thrown another great question out there and I think we need to take a look at it... have there been any movies, either those that have already been named in this thread... or maybe one that was actually a good or even just half decent movie.... that have had an actor or actress in a role that no matter how good the movie was, the casting decision still made you ask "WTF?" Whether it be because they didn't look anything like the person they were supposed to be or just because their acting SUCKED..... I wanna hear about it!

Your Street Fighter makes me wonder.... who would you have used for casting? In my opinion I am not sure there could have been anyone that could have saved that movie

Just about anything that's a remake.

Enough said, and also a ton of unnecessary DTV sequels trying to make a quick buck.

Dana Carvey's "The master of disguise". I remember being embarrassed just to be in the theater. One of the all time stinkers. This is just one of far too many to mention.

"Masters of the Universe" should've never been made into a live action movie, but I have a funny feeling, that it was another movie altogether, and they just changed the names as needed to make it jive with the cartoon.

The movie is one of the reasons the toyline & cartoon died IMHO, and then they brought out that crappy "New Adventures of He-Man", which I still have yet to see, although I did have the action figure from the crappy cartoon.

Movies based on 60's television shows.

I cant stand what Bay has done to the franchise, as is obvious from my article on the subject that I posted just days ago on my site.

While I disagree that every movie based on video games should not have been made, so far I have Street Fighter and Super Mario Bros. on the top of the list.... can anyone think of better examples of this, even when adding movies based on comicbooks into the mix?

Also Thylacine..... LOVE THE KIRK SPOOF!

I say just about every video game movie made, especially Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat. I mean, granted, if they were handled right, they could've been awesome. As they are though, hell NAW!

Also, the new Transformers movies. In the hands of a different director, or maybe even a collaberation between Bay and another director, they probably would've been a lot more better than they are now.

was thinking that the article may be about bad movies based on video games, so the first two examples may not work, but good ideas for future articles I may create.... however... Street Fighter? perfect example!... also... Mortal Kombat is another example I could use, but didnt think of that until you said Street Fighter.... thanks!

Not click baiting. simply trying to get ideas for my blog on which I can say anything I wish and through which I get paid..... if joining or starting discussions to try and get ideas for the site or if adding a link here and there is seen as "click baiting" than I suppose thats your choice to view it that way. It is up to you if you want to click the link or not... if you don't want to join in on this convo, it is up to you as well. No skin off me, but I rather stick with the website where my content has the option to turn into cash...

We have articles on this site too. You should write articles for retrojunk instead of just doing "research" and clickbaiting for posts on your elsewhere blog.
